Spend the extra money on this set
I have purchased numerous badminton sets over the years and I'm always disappointed. It is typically a hassle to set the net up, the shuttlecocks get stuck in the rackets, and the shuttlecocks fall apart. This set is a HUGE improvement without spending an absolute fortune. We set the net up and were ready to play within 10 minutes of opening the box. It'll be quick and easy to take down as needed. We played for 30 minutes last night and not once did a shuttlecock get stuck in the racket. The shuttlecocks have cork on the bottoms and are larger than most cheap shuttlecocks. I'd highly recommend this set. It's worth the extra price.
Durable, easy to set-up
This is a much, much better set than you'll get from your typical sports dept. store. Though it's pricier, it is sturdy and easy to set-up. The poles are rigid and the guide ropes are good and strong, a decent all-around design. You may want to upgrade the racquets but they are fine for out-of-the-box action.
Not a Piece of Crap
The wife and I host weekly grass Volleyball games. Periodically, for no explicable reason, our non-volleyball playing friends show up. Over the years we've purchased several badminton sets in an effort to keep these friends happy. These cheaper sets are essentially disposable. They tend to fall apart or become hopelessly tangled after a couple uses. We finally decided to spend a little more money and try out the Park & Sun Pro Set. ( We've had posititive experiences with Park & Suns higher end volleyball systems ) The system more than delivered. It was easy to put up, easy to take down and fit back into the carrying bag with out any problem. The system was more than able to handle the abuse rendered when a handful of children used it for a volleyball game, far more wear and tear you would expect in a normal badminton game. I'm not a good judge of what constitutes a good racquet, but they seemed sturdy. I would have given the system 5 stars except for the cheap plastic steaks. These can replaced with a set of metal camping stakes for a few bucks.
