Bon-Ami Yellow Label
This is the original formula in the yellow label that I couldn't find locally, all the stores carry the gold label. I use it to clean the
the accumulated dirt that the glass on old cars seem to get; it works
as advertised and that's what I like.

Intentionally Mislabeled product
This product is advertised as the original formula from 1886. At one time it was packaged for General Motors and sold by dealership parts departments to clean automobile windshields. The original formula was feldspar and soap as Amazon ads state is the current formulation for the #4030 product. However, the can ONLY says it contains soap with no mention of feldspar. Also, on the can is a notice DO NOT USE ON WINDSHIELDS!
I spoke with Bon Ami's customer service and they warned about the cautionary notice, but said it is the same formulation as the original that was sold by General Motors and safe to use. They didn't seem concerned about the contradictions.

What Grandmom Used
This environmentally friendly stuff was what my grandmother used in the 1950s. It is the only cleanser I can use without scratching the enamel on my sinktop. Hard to find, unless you go the maker's Website. But it's very effective, and if you buy a half dozen cans or so, worth paying the shipping.
