NOT THE BEST GUIDE TO MEXICO3
This is not the best guide to Mexico, but it has some nice supplemental info. Some data is clearly wrong, which should not be true of this type of guide. I haven't researched it thoroughly, but one glaring example I found right off the bat. This guide refers to the bus terminal in Xalapa as TAXA. As anyone knows who is familiar with Mexico, this should be CAXA. These are initials that stand for "Centro de Autobuses de Xalapa"--thus, CAXA. This is simple for other locations, for example CAVE is Centro de Autobuses de Veracruz, for Veracruz City. Puebla is therefor CAPU, Centro de Autobuses de Puebla, thus, the first 2 initials for Centro de Autobuses, and the last 2 initials of the first 2 letters of the city. Lonely Planet is the first choice if only one guide book to Mexico is what one wants. It has more detail, and although contains errors, not so obvious as this guide book.

The worst guidebook!1
I normally do not write reviews nor do I give such bad ratings, but this book is a total waste of money.
It omits entire regions (!), has a very poor choice of places to stay/eat/go out, doesn't elaborate on the important things and is generally very unproffesionally written.
Some of the listings weren't up to date at all (like a hostel I was looking for in Cozumel or a restaurant in Merida).
I simply gave it away (unused) as I saw that it doesn't supply any useful information on the places I wanted to go to.
This is after travelling with Footprint, Roughguide and Lonely Planet - again, I've never encountered such a bad travelbook!

Fodor's Mexico 20095
We recently took a trip to Veracruz and found this book very helpful. It was accurate about places to eat and stay. The only thing I would add is that very few people speak English so brush up onyour Spanish!
