The KitchenAid Pro Line Burr Coffee Grinder grinds whole coffee beans for the best tasting cup you ve ever brewed! Whether you re grinding for espresso, drip coffee, French Press or something in-between, 15 different grind settings give you plenty of options. The commercial-quality burrs actually flake coffee instead of crushing it, so you don t lose any of the essential oils that give coffee its full flavor. Turning at just 450 RPMs, this burr grinder also ensures those oils will not burn off due to frictional heat. Special gears control the delivery of beans to the burrs for a better grind consistency, and a plastic seal helps position the coffee bin under the grinding spout to prevent grounds from escaping. Now for the real plus: the Kitchen Aid Pro Line Coffee Grinder has a bean hopper and coffee bin made of GLASS rather than plastic to eliminate static cling. Glass means less cleanup, plus fluffy-looking grounds that won t cling to each other or the grinder. And since the hardy all-metal construction means this baby is built to last, this may be the last grinder you ll ever buy. One Helluva grider.
This thing is the diesel truck of home grinders. The coffee tastes so much better...never thought a good grind could make such a difference. Yes you have to BOP it now and then while grinding but look at coffee beans...their all different and not consistently shaped. I like it all and it will last for ever. It's so much quieter than expected and grind consistency is superb. We love it.
Not a "buy", but an investment
My grinder just came in yesterday and it was slightly larger than I expected. I mean, I knew that KitchenAid products are usually quite "beefy", but the grinder overshadowed nearly everything else on the counter!
Ok... so what?
It's probably been written before, but just looking at the shiny black metal monster, with it's brushed aluminum bezel and conservative lines... I think "This is the Cadillac of the counter." Of course, it's expensive. Far more than any plastic grinder found at Target. I think most grinders look like toy spaceships. Not this one. But the "so what" isn't just the looks, it is this: I'm counting on having this grinder for 20 years, and in 20 years, it'll look just as good and continue pumping out outstanding grinds.
That isn't something you buy, that is an investment. An investment for better coffee, better piece of mind, and the enjoyment of seeing it on the counter for a long, long time. Thanks for reading.
Great Ergonomics. Superior Grinder.
After going through a number of cheaper burr grinders (Capresso, CuisinartBreville BCG450XL Conical Burr Grinder, Breville) which failed mechanically after limited use, we ordered the KitchenAid Pro Line Burr Grinder. This is a commercial grade grinder with fantastic ergonomics, materials, fit and finish and does an amazing job. Yes it has a bigger foot print and weight but it is in all respects a superior appliance. Stop wasting your money on those cheaper models. (Did I mention it also always reminds me of Tom Servo on MST3K?)
