Cheap yet light, functional kayak paddle4
While there are certainly better paddles out there, this one is excellent for the money. It's relatively light (probably the lightest decent quality paddle you could get for the price), has very nice grips and includes drip guards that are as functional as any (read: not incredibly, but reasonably). This is a short paddle for those who prefer power strokes at steep angles of entry into the water. For those looking for touring paddles that you put into the water at a less steep angle (for an easier stroke that doesn't generate quite as much speed), you might consider going longer (90"+ range; kayak paddles shouldn't be based on your height so much as your paddling style). Overall, I recommend this paddle as a decent, cheap beginner's paddle; it would work well as a spare if you ever decide to upgrade.

Great paddle for the Price5
For a beginning kayaker this paddle fits the bill. Three positions to choose from for paddle end placement. Foam hand grips, these can stick when you want to move them or slide when you wish they wouldn't, but that was seldom. For casual trips down the Arkansas river this paddle did the trick and didn't cost a bundle.

Great bargain!5
You can't beat these paddles for the price. They can be adjusted to different angles and the padded grips are very comfortable. I don't feel like I'm getting blisters when I paddle. The scooped shape is nice, though they do seem to sling water back into the boat. No real complaints though -- I like these as well as or better than any other paddles I've used.
