About the Author
Marcy Schwarz has been writing the poems for Bar/Bat Mitzvah Candle Lighting ceremonies for over ten years. For the past three years she has been available "online" at her own website, helping people from all over North America prepare for their child's big day. Marcy writes the personalized poem ceremonies and parents' "Bimah Speeches."

To date, she has written over five hundred individual candle lighting ceremonies.

After innumerable requests she has edited over 250 of her best verses and written this book.

A "Mechiah" for parents of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah
This book got me through my son's Bar Mitzvah. I did not realize how hard it was going to be to write the poems for his candle lighting ceremony. We were pulling our hair out, then I bought this book. AWESOME! We were able to sit down and pick out poems that were perfect for us. We used the work sheets and it made the whole process so easy.
It even includes wonderful heartfelt "memorial" poems. My father passed away suddenly last year. I did not know how to handle it during the candle lighting ceremony. I found the perfect poem on page 25!
My husband and I laughed and cried as we read the poems. The intro was hysterical and really walks you through the entire ceremony, from entering the ballroom to blowing out the candles. I am so happy we found this book; we'll use it again when our daughter becomes a Bat Mitzvah...
IT'S A MECHIAH!!

Great book - stress reliever!
My daughter's Bat Mitzvah was looming large when I found this book on Amazon.com. I don't have to tell you how stressed we all were one month before the big day. We ordered this book (which came very quickly) and in two evenings we had the perfect personalized candle lighting ceremony. Steffi chose the verses with us. In fact we did a lot of reminiscing and had a fun time with a lot of laughs.
The book even had a small section including poems for our Gentile relatives. Steffi loves them and was unsure how to include them in the ceremony.
Marcy Schwarz does take the stress off. The poems were one less thing we had to worry about. I highly recommend this book!

Made our lives easier!
This book has great poems that helped us prepare the candle lighting ceremony for our children's B'nai Mitzvah. We had gotten quotes of over $200 for "other people" to write our poems. We were able to do it ourselves for only $29.99!
The book includes many extremely heartfelt poems. And a lot of funny ones, too. We highly recommend it.
