If you're only going to have 1 hammer, this is it.
I've used this for years, for tear down, framing*, finish carpentry, just plain hitting things for fun... no matter what, it's the perfect all-around hammer. The hammer is also made in the USA, which is always something that makes me happy...

*For the past couple years, I have been using a framing hammer when doing a considerable amount of framing... but this thing is always within reach.

Epoxy in the wrong places
While the leather washer handle is an interesting concept, there were a few problems with the one I received. The epoxy coating to protect the leather was missing on the lower part of the handle, and there was epoxy on the face and claws of the hammer. The hammer states that it is made in the USA.

Estwing Leather Handle Hammer
I have used an Estwing hammer since I have been old enough to hold a hammer.
I like the balance and lack of vibration when using this type of hammer. I lost
my previous hammer and have been using this one upon receiving it in the mail.
I have used other hammers but find this make to be the one I like the most!
