The Stanley Story
The Stanley Works, originally a bolt and door hardware manufacturing company located in New Britain, Connecticut; was founded in 1843 by Frederick T. Stanley. So I own a few hammers
(...). Thing is, while I use hammers frequently, I don't do it for a job 40+ hours a week.

Which brings us to this hammer... is it my favorite hammer... no, do I grab it first, no, does it even get the honored spot of being in my tool belt most of the time? Again, no. That said, will it drive nails and nail sets and pound on my wrecking bars without putting nice waffle prints everywhere? Most definately. Is there something to the anti-vibe magic? I think so. I don't think it's as good at dampening the vibration as a nice hickory handle, but it's better than most hammers with steel or fiberglass handles. And will it hold up better? Especially if you aren't the most experienced at hitting what you are aiming at? Most definitely.

Conlusion if you need a hammer that doesn't make waffles this should be one of your candidates.

This is the heavy hammer you need to own.
This is the heavy hammer that every woman has to have. Those dinky hammers just can't do a "man's" job!
Men already know that they need a heavy hammer. But women have to be told. This is the hammer to buy for the big jobs.

This Hamer Nails it Home!
I purchased this for my 64 year old retired father. He was a contractor and is able to do just about EVERYTHING, so is very picky about his tools and toys and has about everything and mostly all top of the line.

He loved the fact that this is stainless steel, is solidly constructed, has a nice curved rip end to easily remove nails, has a nice grip on it, balance is great, and feels nice in his hand.

However, when he received it, he was disappointed that this was not made in the USA but Mexico instead, but at least it wasn't made in the East where most of the cheaper made stuff come from. Also, make sure to check the weight on this baby. It's 20oz, which is good to nail in a few nails, but if you're planning on a big project that requires hours, it might get a bit heavy.

The product was so well made and the price was great for what I paid for, that I didn't bother returning it, but instead just bought him the same item in the 16oz in addition.

Recommend, but check out the 16oz too!
