Estwing Small Rock Pick
Estwing makes the broadest range of tools for the geologist. The normal rock pick weighs 22 oz, while the E3-14P weighs only 14. I got it so my grandsons could have fun with me looking looking for fossils.

This is a heavy rock pick and the shipping cost shows it.

However it is the best rock pick there is, and I have used it many times to look into rocks, crevaces etc.

Yes, I suppose you can try and get a $5 hammer at your local hardware store to do the job, but I would rather have a heavy, nicely gripped, the "rolls royce" of rock picks, rock pick, than anything else.
