Noticeable Results in days!5
A friend of mine tried microdermabrasion and recommending it for me but I don't have the budget for a weekly spa day. Instead I purchased this item to treat myself. After just a few treatments my skin feels softer and my pores are less noticable.

You do a steam facial with a moisterizer followed by a facial cleaner brush treatment with some exfoliant cream. (Moisterizer and exfoliant not supplied). The steam and soft brush gently wash away dirt and dead skin cells.

I was expecting some kind of "abrasion" but everything was gentle and my face felt great afterwards. I love the results and the timer lets me just relax till it dings! (I also love having at least 5 minutes when no one can bother me!) :0)

Reversing the signs of aging skin4
I received this for my birthday (because I'd asked for it) and I'm so glad. First, let me confess that due to laziness in my night-time skincare ritual, I have enlarged pores. Second, I have the mixed-blessing of oily yet nearly 40-year-old skin that is mostly wrinkle-free (due to the oil) but still prone to pimples (due to the laziness). That's why I wanted this gizmo.

The day it arrived, I could hardly wait to try this baby out. I set it up and, having read previous Amazon reviews, I let it simmer for 10 minutes to ensure the water was nice and hot. Then I stuck my face in and steamed away.

On that first session I learned to use a towel to tent the sides of the steamer; otherwise, I'd either have to get my face so close to the water I'd risk burns or it wouldn't be effective. So, towel tent in place, I sat at my steamer for 15 minutes. That's when I learned my second lesson: keep a damp washcloth handy to wipe off the sebum and oils that are loosened by the steam. With those two tricks under my belt, I've been using this on alternate nights and I'm AMAZED at how my skin has improved.

Other tips I've figured out through trial-and-error: be sure your face is quite clean before steaming; pause halfway through your steam session to exfoliate with the included brush (with your preferred cleanser and/or exfoliating scrub); for an extra-luxuriant treat, pat on eye cream and apply lip balm a few moments before ending your steaming session to help them soak in; and be sure to wash your face one more time after you're done steaming to expunge any loosened oils.

Following those very tips I can say my skin hasn't looked this young since, oh, I don't remember when. I've got my teenaged daughter hooked on this, too, and her skin's looking lovely as well.

Oh, and before I forget, I should point out WHY I wanted this for a birthday present: it had nothing to do with my skin. I'm an allergy sufferer, and I've long known that steam lessens my symptoms. This has been a true MIRACLE for my allergies -- especially this summer, which has been particularly vicious. I actually put a couple of pieces of dried rosemary in the water the other night because I'd read about the herb's ability to clear nasal passages. The results were awesome. I could breathe clearly AND had nearly invisible pores.

Who wouldn't be happy with that?

Very Relaxing when I find time to do it!5
With a 19 mo/old pulling at me and my husband asking me to do this another time, it is difficult to find a few relaxing moments to give myself a facial! However, this is probably a personal problem! The machine is great! Makes my skin feel smooth and clean! I still have difficulty with the pores on my chin, but perhaps it is because I haven't had a chance to try it for more than 5 min! Anyway, I highly recommend it! You can do the same thing with a pot on the stove, but to get a chair at stove level and have your face at just the right angle without burning yourself can get a bit tricky. This machine takes the guess work out of it and allows you to relax.
