Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
Jeanette Johnson spent nine years writing Face Exercises That Prevent Premature Aging and the quality of her book reflects the time and work she devoted to it. The 56 illustrations are close to life size and they make the exercises easy to do.

The testimonials on her web site are evidence of the value of this book to every person who wants to look years younger.

From the Author
We live in a culture in which youth is glorified and looking older can cause a woman or a man to feel they are less valued than they were at a younger age. In the book I teach my readers how to keep their youthful appearance as long as they live; having this knowledge enables them to be free from the fear of growing older and being unable to compete with others in our youth-oriented society.

From the Back Cover
Premature aging of the face is not inevitable and you dont have to let it happen to you. This book contains face exercises and a skin-smoothing masque that slow the aging process. If you make the exercises and the masque a part of your skin care before premature aging occurs, your face will change little as you accumulate birthdays. You will be celebrating each passing year with the knowledge tha you will always look years younger.

If you skin has signs of premature aging before you begin using the exercises and the masque, you can use these skin care techniques to accomplish the restoration of a younger look.

Customer Reviews

Believe It!5
This a wonderful book that shows you step by step exercises that truly help the elasticity of your face and improves the muscle tone. You will be so thrilled, as I was to know the information in this book is both reliable and helpful in keeping your face wrinkle free.

They Work!5
These exercises work. No question about it - they really work. I'm 40 and was starting to notice the old age droop in my cheek and eye muscles as well as the characteristic bulge from untoned tongue muscles. Within one week of doing these exercises I noticed significant improvement. The cheek droop line is tightening up and receding. The muscles of my eyes and forehead have tightened up and lifted again. What's more, unlike with Carol Maggio's book, these exercises gave me a way to do these exercises without creating new wrinkles - a big reason why I stopped the exercises from Maggio's book.

The directions are step by step and very clear. I appreciated the drawings demonstrating the muscles targeted by each exercise. Pages 16 and 17 for example showed how the underlying face muscles of a young person (p. 16) look compared to an older person (p. 17).

Here's an excerpt to give you an idea of what a bit of the text is like to go with the illustrations.

"The illustrations show the contrast between facial muscles before and after premature aging. In the illustration on the left, the muscles are strong and tight. They support the skin around the eyes and the contours of the cheeks, lips and lower face. Notice how the cheek muscles insert into the mouth muscle and provide support for it.

prematurely aged eye muscles are too weak to hold the skin firmly in place. This causes squint lines, hollows, and bags to form in the skin around the eyes. In addition, cheek muscles sag and no longer provide support for the cheeks and the mouth muscle. When the mouth muscle lacks the support of strong cheek and chin muscles the lips tend to turn inward. Jaw and neck muscles become limp and slack and the skin attached to them becomes loose and shapeless."

If you are considering a face exercise book you can't go wrong giving this book a chance.

Trying to delay Father Time4
This book describes and shows illustrations on the best excercises to help prevent, and to slow the signs of aging of our face. I am always looking for new ways to prevent myself from getting old before my time. Like alot of others, I ignored the warnings of what spending too much time in the sun, without using sunblockers to protect my skin, would reveal in years to come. I started worshipping the sun when I was in my early teens, and now at we'll say 40-ish, I've been trying to correct some of the damage I started back then. When I saw this book on Amazon, I knew that trying new strategies to renew my youthful appearance could't hurt. It made sense to me that excercising the face was as important as excercising the body to keep it in shape and help to return some of the muscle tone we lose as we age. I liked the book because it focuses on all the problem areas of the face, including the neck area as well. I have been using a few of these excercises regularly, and have noticed some change, especially in the chin area in only a few weeks. I wish I would have known about these excercises a long time ago. But it's never to late to start. I care about my appearance, and am willing to work on getting my face looking more like it did in earlier times, and keeping it younger-looking for many years to come. The only thing I wasn't as positive about with the book, is that using all of the excercises on somewhat a daily basis is actually unrealistic to most of us that don't have an extra hour in the day to spend on all of these excercises, but even a few minutes will be worth it in the end result. Just keep your chin up, and enjoy improving yourself in any way possible. And remember the sunblock! Thank you Jeanette for sharing these excercises for all of us to use. Sincerely, Diane Poff
