Proposals & Agents
It seems that every agent and every publisher has their own advice about how to write proposals and how to find an agent. In fact, before approaching anyone, it is important to do your homework.

I personally rely on the annual editions of two well-known guides to agents. One of them, Writer's Market, even has an online edition that is updated throughout the year.
