Nice platform!
I've been wanting to have a platform bed instead of the headboard. I found the South Shore full platform bed on Amazon.com and so decided to purchase it. It was a big package. At first it looks like a daunting job of assembling the plaform: how am I gonna assemble this platform by myself, I asked. Thank god the assembling instructions were clear and the pieces were labelled nicely according to the instructions, thus making the assembling work much easier. The only difficult part is carrying/lifting the pieces of heavy woods. Although I managed to assemble the platform by myself within an hr, I still suggest having two persons becasue the woods are big and heavy (considering the size of the plaform). I got a couple of cuts while lifting the pieces together. After the hard work, the platform was assembled nicely; it looks great and fits well with my full sized mattress. I was proud of my work and definitely very pleased with the platform. It was worth buying the South Shore platform.

The Best Deal Anywhere
I think this bed was perfect! The bed was a little tough to put together but you can't find a better deal anywhere for a bed like this!!!

Amazon good, Fed-Ex bad.
The South Shore Platform bed (Onyx Black) arrived today. It was easy enough to put together, despite my general lack of ability with these kinds of things. I did it alone in 50 minutes.
My only complaint is that it required no signature upon delivery. The FedEx guy apparently took this as meaning it was okay to just leave it in the middle of my driveway-- quite literally the middle, despite the easily accessible, closed in porch with the neon sign asking for all packages to be brought inside. Looking out the window, I saw the FedEx delivery man push the box from inside his truck onto the pavement-- shoving it from the back of his truck to the ground. The fact that no boards were broken is a testament, at least, to good packaging. I'll do my best to avoid FedEx from now on.
