This is at least as good as the picture
I looked at simliar products in a few stores locally (hard to find) for my girlfriend. The furniture store items were generally too large, but nice (Ex: Havertys). Other items from JCPenny were ok, but on inspection showed most had uneven drawers and other telling signs of only "ok" craftsmanship. This Queen Anne style Jewelry Armoire was reccomended by a friend and is all that I could have wanted and more. It has a high quality fit and finish and only requires putting the legs and top on (5 minutes). Quite honestly, this is better than items twice the price.

Fine, but not awesome.
I have been looking for a jewelry armoire for a few months now, and after reading all the reviews and doing my research, I finally settled on this one. Don't get me wrong, I like it. The craftmanship seems good (I will be honest, though, I don't know a whole lot about that) and it only took me a few minutes to screw the legs and lid on. My biggest complaint is the color. The one I got looks black. It is SO much darker than the picture. I would LOVE it if it was lighter, but the color really bothers me. Also, the top drawer is just for looks. In order to have access to that "drawer" you need to open the lid. Which is fine, but it would be nice to have the option to put stuff on top of it and use the drawer to get to your jewelry. I really like the side door construction and would reccommend getting this if you don't mind black furniture.
