Cheap insurance for an expensive part.
Comes with the camera, but can get scratched up. Better this than the 3" LCD screen on the camera with the higher resolution on the D90. Does not degrade the picture much by having it on at all times, so worth having as cheap insurance. I will always have one as a spare. Don't even want to guess as to what it would take to replace the screen on a D90.

Get more than one!
I recommend buying a couple of these; eventually you will (1) misplace one and/or (2) need a replacement due to scratches & aging. Better to have an immediate solution than be tempted to leave the LCD bare, as that's when the BAM! will likely happen...

Absolutly Necessary
Absolutly necessary to protect lcd screen from scratches. It can easyly fall by accident so it is better to watch it when you carry on your camera with it on.
