Made by Tiger Electronics, this compact amp packs four speakers and stereo sound into a 9-inch square box that's easy to transport. The plastic case is constructed of tough, black plastic with silver pads on the corners for extra protection. The front of the amp features four silver, grill-like speakers. Surrounding each speaker are translucent red plastic strips where LED lights pulse along with your music.
Volume That Goes To 11
There are two input jacks on the front of the amp. The Power Tour Electric Guitar plugs into input 1; input 2 is designed for portable music players. On the back of the amp an there's an output, which lets you hook it up with more Power Tour Amps, so you can stack your sound. The volume dial adjusts from 1 to 11. A separate dial lets you control the tone of the musical accompaniment with your playing, from low to high. The amp requires four 1.5-volt batteries (sold separately).
Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3
While Power Tour Amp is no professional amplifier, the sound is more than enough for bedroom and apartment use. The volume control means you can turn it down at night or for extra privacy, or crank it up to show off for friends. But even at 11, the volume falls short of awesomeness in terms of decibels; the Power Tour Electric Guitar gets almost as loud without the amp. The flashing LED lights are more impressive, and matching your playing, they make this amp a fun challenge in the dark. The amp is well-built, and with its small size and cable storage area in the back, the amp could even be carried around in a backpack.

The Power Tour Amp
I bought this Power Tour Amp to go with the guitar thinking it would be loud. The amp in my opion is really not necessary its more for looks that anything else yeah it lights up but again just for the effects its ok. It really doesn't crank up much louder that the guitar by itself.
Gift for a 5 year old...
The Hasboro amplifier coupled with the guitar made a perfect combo for a 5 year old boy. I must say we all have fun with it. The amplifier has some draw backs but for the price I really can't complain. My first issue is it requires batteries to work. My kids are getting better about remembering to turn things off so I hope we won't be changing batteries often. The other issue isn't a problem just could be a better design it doesn't have a spot for a microphone to plug in. We did try to play music through a MP3 player but you don't want to do that for very long because for sure the batteries will run down.
Much better than expected!
My son asked for the Power Tour Guitar and Amp for Christmas. He is 9 and has some musical abilities. I thought this would be a stupid gift, but he is actually playing with it constantly. He plays Wild Thing perfectly and is learning the next song. The amp is fun because it makes him feel grown-up. I would recommend both the guitar and the amp. My son's friend went and bought one after he played with my son's guitar and amp.
