Amazon.com Product Description
Featuring a battery-operated monitor displaying speed, distance, workout time, calories burned, and heart rate, this cross-training machine employs a heavy-weighted flywheel-resistance and belt-drive train so it operates silently and smoothly. The elliptical motion blends stair climbing, cycling, skiing, and walking in a single movement for a non-impact aerobic workout that also firms and tones buttocks, hamstrings, quadriceps, thighs, and calves. In forward motion, quadriceps, buttocks, lower abdomen, hips, and thighs are targeted. In reverse motion, hamstrings, lower buttocks, hips, thighs, and calves are targeted. Foam-padded for comfort, dual-action handlebars add an upper-body workout to tone and firm arms, chest, shoulders, and back.
Eight levels of resistance are available and can be varied without interrupting a workout by turning a knob. The cross-trainer's frame is heavy-duty steel. Floor protectors safeguard a workout area and prevent skidding. Assembled (instructions included), the cross trainer measures 56 inches long x 26 inches wide x 60-1/2 inches high and weighs 99 pounds. Built-in rollers permit the machine to be easily moved around.
About Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.
Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.
Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

Great Eliptical Purchase
I can't be 100% sure this is the same model I have at home, but it looks the same in the photos.
I bought it for around $150 at Walmart and couldn't be happier.
I've had it for a year, use it often and it is still in top shape. It doesn't have a heart monitor in the handgrips but it does have one on the display panel. It is as advertised, silent in operation. I get a great workout using it as does my wife. My kids like to give it a go as well.
My only complaint is I'd like to make the resistance harder now that I've had some time on it, but even at the MAX setting, it is still easy for me. Which is no big deal, I just move faster and still get a great workout. I suppose I could take it apart again and adjust the tension cable, but like I said, it is not that big a deal.
I am not sure why anyone would spend a load of money on a more expensive model, this one has been great.
Hmmmmmmmm......
I think this machine is good for starters but can get a little boring at times........ Pop in a dvd and pump those thighs!!!!!!
It is sturdy and didnt take that long to put together, clear instructions. Doesnt take up alot of room, isnt an "eye-sore" in the room and I feel it was a good deal for the price of $199.00 on sale.......
Free shipping didnt hurt either! All in all I give it FOUR STARZZZZZ!
Decent value so far.
This seems to be a pretty decent value model. It's definitely not as sturdy as a high priced model you'd find at a gym, but so far it's pretty stable. We'll see how it holds up after 3 months of heavy use.
Someone that has been using these at the gym for a long time and is used to higher resistance would be disappointed with how light level 8 resistance is, but it's fine for me.
My biggest complaint is that the fitness monitor that came with it didn't work right out of the box, but the Stamina company has said they'll send me a new one.
Bottom line, as long as I get a working fitness monitor, this was a great buy for the price.
