Customer Reviews

Big,Beefy power supply with many options5
This is a great power supply and the cables are wrapped in a cool looking black mesh and each cable has multiple points of connection. They are clearly labeled and come with all screws for mounting. The screws are black and the finish on the power supply is a cool flat black look. It comes with about a dozen small black zip ties and a case badge. The cord is nice and long (5-6ft ish) It has the 8 pin ATX power in addition to the regular 24 pin power supply so you can run a big system on this. Excellent quality all around and 850 watts a a fantastic price!!

Corsair TX850 Power Supply5
What more can you say but WOW, it does the job it is meant for, handle all the load of a full system with the new video card, I have 5 hard drive 2 dvd r/w drive 2 video sources 4 gig memory on a win vista system. also run folding program in the back ground will doing every day stuff on the net, with out a voltage drop or without a hick-up of any kind.
Will have to update my ups system to handle the larger loads.
Order the products it was advertise as free shipping, but when I place order they try to wish-out on the free shipping, saying it would not be the fast delivery normally, watch for this when placing your order.

Product is Good bang for your bucks spend, have own several Corsair Products with out any problem they do have live tech support plus it has a free toll number if needed.

Not such a good "value" option IMHO.2
I purchased this to replace a 610w (49A, 12V single rail) PC Power & Cooling Silencer, with this power supply (70A, 12V single rail). The system has a Core i7 920 and dual 4870 1GB video cards and was maxing my old 610w pretty severely, as it was very loud when doing anything taxing. However, the 610w, although loud, would run 24/7/365 under full load without issues.

This better (on paper at least) 850w power supply died after ~3 hours at 100% load (used OCCT to test it). The Corsair 850w seemed to run the system well at first, but I think the fan doesn't spin up enough to properly cool the power supply when large amounts of current are required.

I expected more from this unit for sure given the specs and 5-year warranty. To be fair, it could have been just a bad egg out of the box, but I'm not taking any chances. An extra $60 to get a PC Power & Cooling Silencer 910w, spread out over the course of at least 5-years, seems worth the premium to me.

I gave it two stars because at least the internal circuit protection did not take any other computer components to the grave along with the power supply.
