First Reviewer Missed the Point Completely!
Clearly you missed the point Mason. The point of the Mini is in its elegance and size. If you want to protect the Mini, all you want is a similarly small and sleek looking case. With the extra padding provided, you're truly protecting the netbook. Great if you're hoping to keep your Mini looking great for a long time. Great looking product!

Stinks of neoprene
I like the case, per se. It fits the netbook snugly but easily and has ample padding for routine bumps. HOWEVER, when I first took it out of its wrapping, the neoprene/rubber smell, which I find stomach-turning, was so strong that I could smell it from across the room. I have left it to outgas, but I can still smell it from a few feet away. I hope this improves because I like having a case designed for the Mini.

As for those who commented that this is not HP quality, I think it is -but in two different ways. The first is that it is high quality. The second is that it stinks - which mirrors my experience with HP support when I realized that the netbook was missing the drivers required for WPA wireless security and they were incapable of troubleshooting a problem. Implicit in this comment is that I had to contact tech support because a new, not inexpensive netbook shipped with two defects that rendered it useless on my recent vacation.

Would I recommend this for someone who wants this type of case - depends upon whether the smell goes away with more time. Somehow, I'm not optimistic and am wondering whether I should have sent it back with the HP external DVD drive - but that's another review...

With NO room for anything else but the HP Mini...it's USELESS!
First off...I would like to say that this is my fault for not carefully examining ALL the pictures that Amazon provided for this HP Mini 1000 carrying case.

I went by the name of the product in which 'pouch case' is used to describe it and assumed there would be a pouch attached to the front of the case but much to my disappointment...there is NO POUCH!

All you get is just enough room to stuff your HP Mini into the case with virtually NO room for anything else...including the HP Mini power adapter and cord!

I also purchased a Logitech micro wireless mouse for the HP Mini and I can forget about being able to bring that along as well with this useless case!

So...unless you eventually get a HP 6-cell battery for your HP Mini 1000 and make sure you fully charge it up before you drop your HP Mini 1000 into this case...you'll have to find another place to bring along the power adapter and cord and anything else you purchased to use with the HP Mini 1000 like a wireless mouse.

This case takes the 'minimalist design' approach to a whole new level and in this CASE (pun intended)...it's not good!
