Customer Reviews
Hard to drain
The battery itself functions excellently. I've run my wind off of it for hour's on end in full power mode without any trouble. There are 2 factors to be aware of before you decide to get one of these 9-cell behemoths though. First, this battery is rather bulky. It sticks out of the netbook and get's caught on everything. Since the retention clips on the Wind are only meant to handle a 6-cell battery at most, this usually means they will break off and you'll have to keep snapping the battery back in place all the time. The second thing you need to know is that the normal Windows battery management in XP doesn't tend to be even remotely accurate with this battery. I've run my Wind from full charge down to when it shuts off and won't come back on 4 times now and while it get's slightly more accurate with each attempt, the estimated time remaining is still roughly an hour under the actual battery life. I can usually get a good 4-5 hours out of a single charge with the Wind going full usage. In economy mode that changes to 5-6 but I've never managed to break 6 hours with it in use.
