At first glance, the Nokia E90 has a candybar form factor, but it opens up to reveal much more under the hood.

The full QWERTY keyboard and widescreen LCD makes it easy to view full Web pages and edit documents.
This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides quad-band connectivity (850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz). It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider. When paired with a compatible 3G network that uses UMTS 2100 MHz connectivity (found in Europe and Asia), you'll enjoy a variety of feature-rich wireless services with speeds up to 384 Kbps--from data connectivity to your office to multimedia streaming, and take advantage of simultaneous voice and data services. In the United States and foreign territories where 2100 MHz 3G networks are not available, you'll continue to receive data service via EDGE network (depending on network compatibility).

The top of the phone has a standard numeric keypad, navigation pad, soft keys, and 2-inch color LCD (with a 240 x 320-pixel resolution). The internal screen has an 800 x 352-pixel resolution--capable of displaying the full width of a web page at once--and both displays produce brilliant imagery thanks to support for 16 million colors. A QCIF camera sits at the top left corner of the internal screen for video calls, while a lens on the back of the device captures still images up to 3.2 megapixels in size. Camera functions include an LED flash, red-eye reduction, and self-timer. You can also record video at up to VGA resolution and 30 frames per second. The E90 also has an integrated GPS and Nokia Maps application to provide help in finding routes and locating services.

Getting on the Internet is easy with the E90, thanks to its EDGE data connectivity (and compatibility with 2100 MHz 3G networks). The integrated Wi-Fi connectivity (802.11b/g) enables you to make VoIP phone calls over an open network, and it offers a variety of security settings (WPA2-Enterprise, WPA2-Personal, WPA-Enterprise, WPA-Personal). When used with a carrier data plan and the phone's USB or Bluetooth data capability, the phone can also be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs.

The E90's innovative built-in browser, one of many enhancements included with the device's Symbian operating system--known as Series 60 9.1 Version 3--offers full HTML viewing as well as support for page zooming, CSS, JavaScript and other technologies that will bring you very close to a desktop PC browsing experience.

The E90 supports PC synchronization standards via USB or Bluetooth, which means you can manage and synchronize contacts, calendars and other data with your PC. Nokia's PC Suite application makes this process a breeze. A number of handy software tools are bundled with the device, including a voice memo recorder, a calculator, and an alarm clock. Productivity tools bundled with the E61i include a word processor, a presentation viewer/editor, a spreadsheet viewer/editor, PDF viewer, and a zip file manager. The office applications are compatible with the most common features of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (MS Office 97 or later). Robust contact and calendar applications are also included.

With support for the MMS (multimedia messaging service), the E90 can send picture, video and text messages. Instant messaging is also supported, and the phone ships with a built-in email client that supports POP3, IMAP, and SMTP protocols, as well as Microsoft Office-based email attachments. Other features include:

  • Up to 128 MB free memory for user data and applications

Great Devise as expected from Nokia5
This phone is truly wonderful! I went through several Nokia cell phones and this one is the best one of them! I had the Nokia N81 which is Great! yet I was always troubled with writing my messeges or the websites addresses...etc. Therefore, I started fishing for a devise with a seperate Keypad that enables me to write freeely with no need to press the same key more than once and consume my time hence. This was the ONE!! it is not only easier to write but faster. I like the backlight that lets me seed my through the dark nights. I don't deny that I think I will be missing the 8 GB Nokia N81 however the 2 GB memory card saves enough and I keep downloading everything almost once a month on my computer. the software is Awesome. It is so easily conducted and teaches you step by step what to do. One feature that I truly love is the wireless network detection. I 've been in several places with wireless networks and the device was incredible not to mention it was able to download and open attachments I wasn't able to see in N81. So this one wins. I am still exploring it I've just owned it. However I am growing to like better and better. it is worth it :)

Best phone i've ever owned5
In all fairness, this is one of the best smart phones on the market. I've owned the iPhone and many others, and by far, the Nokia E90 is the best. This phone can blow through an email like a hot knife threw butter, and lets see the iPhone do video conferencing, yeah thats what i thought. The only downside to this phone is that it is heavy, heavier than pretty much any other phone on the market. But man is it sweet. Battery life is fantastic and no other cell phone can match what this phone can do. Your going to spend a pretty penny to get this phone but you won't regret it once you do. Nokia for life!

The Swiss Army Knife of Communication5
This phone is a perfect balance between input and output.

Entering text is a breeze, compared to touch phones etc, you will save time and your eyesight as well as save a lot of frustration.

It has everything that can help make your life comfortable, and GPS is great.

Above all, there are hundreds of programs that can be purchased to help you personalize your phone to your needs. Google maps(free) is a gem.

Want to send a fax? Try scanr.com
Want to phone with VOIP? Try truphone.com
The list goes on and on. You can get Ultimate Voice Recorder to record all telephone conversations.

I could go on and on in praise of the phone. One thing I would like to see improved, is the internal memory, which at 128 MB might seem reasonable by today's standard, but more is better.

To sum up, WOW
