Product Description
The triple-channel memory kit is qualified specifically for the Intel Core i7 processor. Intel certified for the Core i7's triple channel mode, the 6GB kit ensures optimal performance via an ideal combination of low voltage requirements, speed, and latency. Developed for enthusiasts and early-adopters, the low voltage OCZ Triple Channel solutions are the choice counterparts for leading-edge performance that won't inhibit the functionality of Core i7 CPUs. In addition, modules are tested in matched triplets ensuring superior compatibility. Designed to significantly increase performance levels of the entire platform, these modules feature Intel Extreme Memory Profiles (XMP), a proprietary extension of SPD (Serial Presence Detect) settings that act as an integrated "plug and play" overclocking tool. The Extreme Memory Profile options on the OCZ DDR3 modules allow the end user to select ultimate performance through a framework of predefined and validated optimizations of individual settings without the hassle of manually adjusting each parameter, so the timings, voltage, and speed boot automatically for maximum performance. Each kit features a second enthusiast profile to enable the modules to run at an even more aggressive balance of speed and timings. OCZ's Triple Channel kits are 100% hand-tested for quality assurance and compatibility and feature propriety XTC (Xtreme Thermal Convection) heatspreaders for the most effective heat dissipation.

Customer Reviews
Acceptable performance, but not better than the Corsair I was replacing
I bought this memory for one reason only-- to try to get some better performance while maintaining a stable system. I use this with the Intel X58SO board, and I had been using corsair TR3X6G1600C8D memory. This is definitely cheaper, but didn't perform any better. I thought because this memory was prequalified for an additional XMP profile that it might perform a little better, but the second XMP profile it had that Corsair didn't caused my system to be unstable.
The memory is fine and acceptable for use, but don't expect it to perform better than the Corsair I mentioned.
Bad product, bad support
Ordinarily I wouldn't write a review. After all, it's RAM. You install it, the computer goes faster. Except that one of the three sticks in the kit I received was dead. So not great, but it would be okay as long as OCZ fixes the problem. Unfortunately, their support is terrible. When I emailed, I got no response. When I called, I was referred to the trouble-ticket website. Every time I posted to the ticket, there would be no response until the end of the day. After several days of back-and-forth, they said that I couldn't send back just the dead stick, they wanted all three. And they refused to send a replacement first, so that I could at least run the computer on the two working sticks. And I have to pay the return shipping. The trouble-ticket respondent mentioned 2 business days turnaround; it's been 6 now and nothing has happened. The facts are these: OCZ may make decent memory but they refuse to take care of the customer once the sale is completed.
MMMMM....lotsa memory!
Actually bought this item TWICE - so I'm running 12Gb of triple channel memory with my i7920 on this X58 chipset! Wheee!
