I'm a happy camper.
After many consecutive hours researching flat panel TVs on the computer, having read all the reviews from many sites on the web and developing a serious case of eye strain, I decided on the 46" Toshiba 535U. I was going back and forth about whether to save money by buying the 42" or by going for broke with the 46". I took a trip over to my neighborhood Costco (where the prices were much higher than at Amazon) to check out the two sizes side by side. I knew right away it had to be the 46" and that I liked the picture on the Toshiba brand better than all the others.I even called Amazon with a few questions before I clicked the checkout button. The Customer Service rep answered all my questions clearly and ultimately helped me to zero in on this particular HDTV.

I ordered it very late on January 4th (my birthday present to myself)and it was shipped out the morning of the 5th. By the 7th it was in my apartment. I also bought this set because the deal included the "White Glove" treatment. That was where the first snag came in. The driver said the invoice was marked as a residential delivery and not white glove. The driver did make a phone call, explained the situation and was instructed to bring it inside and set it up for me. Problem solved. The setup took all of five minutes. The next problem was that Amazon delivery is SO fast that the TV beat the HD cable box to my home. LOL.I had to be teased by a week of watching 46" of non-HD until just yesterday when the cable box finally showed up. I am now in HD heaven. Sometimes I think a 50" would have been spectacular but I couldn't afford it......

The TV is beautiful with no dead pixels and that's about as technical as I can get. I haven't played around with any of the settings yet. I am blown away by the color on the Toshiba. They are so rich and saturated. This is my first HD experience so I am very satisfied. (I just threw away the box and sat down to write this review so I am hoping I am not jinxing the TV!)

In addition I bought an HDMI cable on Amazon. It was dirt cheap and I was reassured by all the customer reviews that there is no need to buy an expensive cable. I love shopping on Amazon becasue of the great deals and super-fast shipping.I find the customer reviews invaluable. I am very happy with my purchase.

Better than my Sony KDL W3000 46 inch LCD
I'm very happy with this TV. I also have the Sony KDL W3000, 46 inch -- which I purchased about ten months ago. Purchased this Toshiba only because I had a credit from Ritzcamera.com, and they had it for a price competitive with other places -- about $1190. (Ritz tends to have higher prices on most things they sell than other web merchants.) Well, I'm almost shocked at the quality of this picture -- sharpness, vibrance, color, etc. -- compared to the Sony. I have the Sony picture set to "vivid," which seems to crank out as much from the picture as possible. I was satisfied with the Sony on that setting, despite having read other reviews criticizing the Sony for a dull picture. Now that I have the Toshiba, I know what those reviewers meant. The Toshiba CAN be set for a picture as dull as Sony's -- but has the flexibility to go way beyond. Very nice product.

Toshiba REGZA 46RV535U 46 inch 1080 LCD HDTV
This was the easiest way to purchase a tv. Not only was there NO TAX and NO SHIPPING but the delivery guy brought it into the house, brought it upstairs, took it out of the huge box and set it up for me. The tv is beautiful and I love the swivel base. It did not however work with Time Warner Cable tv so I switched to AT&T UVerse and it works just fine. Toshiba said that the tv is not compatible with certain cable boxes. I love the features on the tv. Amazon has it going on!!!
