Product Description

RoofBag EXPLORER rooftop cargo carriers offer great protection at an economical price. Constructed with a combination of Radio Frequency welding at the top of the carrier and traditional stitching at the front corners and the zipper flap, this car top carrier is recommended when heavy rain is not expected frequently. Even though the EXPLORER cargo carrier uses stitching on the corners and along the zipper flap, water protection is excellent, since any possible moisture wicking through the needle holes is minimized by a double folded, double stitched manufacturing process. The material used in the RoofBag is 18-oz tight-knit polyester fabric, which has been double-coated with vinyl. Besides being totally waterproof, this material is very tough and durable. It is treated to resist the damaging effect of UV rays. It won't fade or deteriorate, even with constant exposure to the sun.

Roof bag works well!4
This did exactly what we needed it to do. We purchased this bag for a long road and camping trip in which we had 5 people in a minivan and no room to store camping supplies. We do not have a rack on the minivan, so this bag fit our needs, strapping through the windows in the car securing it that way with two long straps. My passengers were worried at first for the safety of their camping supplies and personal belongings, but after the first few hundred miles of speedy highway driving, it was obvious we had nothing to worry about. It securely held our belongings on the top of the vehicle and we will continue to use this bag for future road trips and camping expeditions.

Excellent!5
This roof bag worked perfectly for us. We went away for Christmas and had to fill the trunk with presents so we purchased this to store our luggage. It was easy to put on the roof. I helped put it on however my husband could have easily done it on his own. We even took it off when stopping at a hotel overnight. We have a Nissan Altima with no roof rack so we used the non skid pad it came with it. We put the roof bag on the car first as it was too heavy to lift with all the suitcases in it. There is plenty of room in it. We had a large suitcase, two small ones and a duffle bag (about the size of the small suit cases)and there was still more room to add other odds and ends. We drove 1200 miles at highway speeds and had no problems. The bag will slip back just a tad after you get moving but then it stays in place. We didn't really have any rain other than a light drizzle so I can speak about whether or not it is truly waterproof. We put our luggage in large plastic bags just to be safe. Overall we thought this bag was great especially if you don't want to invest hundreds of dollars into a hard top carrier. It even comes with a pouch to store it in so it doesn't take up a lot of room in the garage.

car top carrier4
I bought this so I could put camping gear on top of my Acura TL instead of taking up so much room in the car. It works purfect and has a lot of room. The straps are easy to use, although you will hear a small amount of wind noise from the straps being closed in the doors from the weather stripping because it does not seal completly although there is not a problem with water leakage. I just turned up my radio and lost the sound but if you want it quite I do not recomend this type of unit. You would need to buy a roof rack and install it on your car and then attach the bag to it which can be costly, so I went the cheaper route which worked for me.
