Fantastic music that just happened to be used for the Curious George movie. This cd never leaves our cd changer.

We have all of Dan Zanes' albums (and the rest are listed below), but this is our favorite. It's a little more laid back, and this album has two of our favorite collaborations--"Night Owl" with Aimee Man and "Wild Mountain Thyme" with Dar Williams. "Smile Smile Smile" is another favorite.

Elizabeth Mitchell makes gentle, sunny, happy kids' cds that we just love. This cd is a mix of traditional and newer tunes, and they all fit together in a wonderful little gift of a cd.

Wait...is this an Elizabeth Mitchell cd? Yes it is! One of the reviewers of this cd calls Mitchell's music "fresh and soothing." That's it in a nutshell.

If you want to try out a little Elizabeth Mitchell, Dan Zanes, and kids' artists (Laurie Berkner, Justin Roberts, etc.), this cd is for you. A very well-done mix of kids' artists and other great musicians (Michelle Shocked, Leon Redbone). It's not sleepy music, but it's not hyper, either. Excellent play-around-the-house music.

Benefits kids with neurological disorders, and is a great addition to any stack of kids' cds. A little Ralph's World, a little Matt Nathanson, some They Might Be Giants (good in small doses), some Matthew Sweet...good, good stuff.

All of his cd's are a great mix of traditional folk, kids' songs, world folk, and original songs. His supporting cast adds a lot to each album, and you'll find songs like "Hokey Pokey" and "Skip to my Lou" are actually (*gasp*) enjoyable in Zanes form.

His 2006 kids' cd. We're still warming up to this one. It'll definitely get you up, dancing, and smiling, though! If you'd like to hear more of his music, you can see full-length videos from each album at his website.

My only complaint about this cd is that it's half Japanese music, and ignores Chinese and Korean music almost completely. It's not a very well-rounded "Asian" album, but it is relaxing (and that's the main goal, so hey).

Raffi is definitely a little on the edge of this list. He's so classic, so enjoyable, but also a little "okay boys and girls...let's sing a SONG!"... Still, my kids really enjoy this cd and I like it, too.

Ralph's World is a strange bird. Some of the music so so enjoyable, so catchy, and so perfect for parent/kid listening. Other stuff (Peggy's Pie Parlor Polka) will send you racing for the skip button. This album is nice because it comes with a dvd that ALL toddlers love, and it comes with a full-length cd that has my favorite Ralph's song...The coffee song. M-O-M-M-Y needs C-O-F-F-E-E!
