About Diamondback's LBC Geometry
During the development of LBC Geometry, Diamondback engineers were faced with the challenge of making the comfort bike more comfortable and easier to use without compromising its handling and maneuverability. They started by tilting the seat tube back. Way back. This allows the rider to be seated further behind the bottom bracket and in a lower position, which not only makes for a more stable and comfortable ride, but also allows for full leg extension to the pedals. At the same time, the design still keeps the rider seated low enough on the bike that he or she can quickly and easily plant both feet firmly on the ground. The result is happier knees and much easier mounting and dismounting.
Once the rider's ideal position was determined, the engineers recognized two places they could improve the handling of the bike by not changing anything at all. Whereas other companies have been tempted to lengthen the chainstays and tilt the head tube back, Diamondback engineers opted for another approach, leaving the length of the rear end alone to maintain superior shifting performance and stable handling. Then they designed a new comfort handlebar with more back sweep, helping bring the handle grips within reach. Because the angle and location of the head tube remains unchanged, Diamondback didn't compromise the performance of the bike.

This is a good deal on a a closeout bike
I build and sell these bikes at work, along with other competitive brands. This bike was around fifty to a hundred and fifty bucks more throughout the year, but now that the '10 models are coming in all the '09's are on sale. This is diamondbacks top of the line comfort bike, the trigger shifters are a huge advantage over the grip shifters on cheaper models, as well as the frame, derailleurs, and really all other componentry.
Basically this bike is selling for what the all steel model goes for, and is much better then it. As long as it is assembled and tuned by a competent mechanic this will be great for leisure rides. One issue I have noticed on this and other diamondbacks is the rubber dust cover on the rear cone nuts sometimes rubs against the hub shell and makes a kind of humming noise, but nothing a little grease can't fix.
Why are the foot paddles too close to the front tire, especially when you turn???
My husband bought this bike couple of weeks ago from Amazon. He put it together and then when he test rode it, he felt like his feet paddles are too close to the front tire. Almost bumped while he's riding.. Is that normal?? I don't know if he should return it or not. Please advise!!!
