GE E1050 Highlights
Image Stabilization
Image Stabilization automatically overcomes shaking or blurring caused by accidental hand movement, helping you take clearer, sharper pictures.
![]() |
Face Detection
The camera detects faces in a scene and then automatically focuses and optimizes exposure for them. This technology helps when taking pictures of large groups, when a person is in the distance or when the subject moves into the frame.
![]() |
Smile Detection
The camera's sensor detects when subjects are smiling and releases the shutter automatically when the smiles reach their peek. No more battling shutter lag times to get the perfect picture.
![]() |
Blink Detection
If subjects blink as a photo is snapped, the camera alerts the user afterwards. This allows the photo to be immediately retaken.
![]() |
High ISO
ISO denotes how sensitive the image sensor is to the amount of light present. The higher the ISO, the more sensitive the image sensor, which means improved ability to take pictures in low-light situations. With a digital camera, you can change ISO speeds on the fly because you don't have to replace rolls of film rated for those speeds.

In-Camera Panorama Stitching
Allows for the creation of ultra-wide panoramic shots. Wide-view photos are produced by stitching three images into a single panoramic picture, providing an image that is wider than would be possible with a standard lens.

Red-Eye Removal
Red-eye removal provides users a tool to remove the appearance of red eyes in subjects, which sometimes occurs when pictures are taken using the flash.

Customer Reviews
Once again, avoid this model due to GE spec errors
My entirely truthful review has been taken down, so let's try again.
I returned this camera without having shot a single image or video due to GE getting the specs wrong on their website and dropping the ball on the geotagging feature.
Originally, GE listed that it would shoot 720p 30fps (NTSC), but it is actually limited to 25fps. I have been informed that the site has corrected this now.
GE lists a GPS option on their site for this model. There should be a Rakon GPS radio chip inside that uses Geotate software. It may have the chip, but no info is in the manual - nothing! I emailed Geotate and have received no response.
The camera is larger than the listed dimensions.
Littel price but satisfied overall
I currently own a Canon 450D DSLR and thought I wouldn't need a point and shoot. That is until my wife didn't want to carry the big DSLR. However, I do kind of miss my last point and shoot camera, but it had a few similarities like the display size and my new GE camera has some upgrades that makes it a little easier on the switch. This camera is great because it's all display screen and mostly no buttons which I like. If you don't want to mess with settings it's as simple as point, shoot and be amazed. I'm really impressed with the build quality of the E1050 TW especially with a metal casing which helps if it's accidentally dropped. I knew that's built by Stainless Steel which I can NOT find in the market. It's a 10MP beauty! I spent $223 on this camera and I think it was worth it. Well done GE!
Cool Camera!!
This camera was purchased as a Christmas gift and the touch screen features make this camera very easy to use for the person who doesn't want to learn where a bunch of different buttons are. The pictures are very good quality. This really isn't designed for the expert. SLR type cameras would fit that better. It is compact, fast, and easy. It easily fits in a purse and is readily available to quickly capture those moments where you say "I wish I had a camera".
