Good Tires
I've put about 700 miles on these tires and I have some pretty severe cuts on them due to the riding surface. Some of the cuts were large enough to have some shell chips stuck in the cuts that caused a couple flat tires. I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and there is a lot of blowing sand and sea shell chips are used in the pavement mix. I also rode in Wyoming along some freshly chip sealed roads. I added some tire liners during the last tube change which seems to bring the tires back to their invincible status. This is only the second tire change I've done on my bike so far and wanted to try the Michelins to see if I could detect any difference between them and the Continentals I was riding on before. The Michelins seemed smoother and tracked better but had worse durability by my experience. Overall I liked the tires a lot. I feel like any tire under my recent riding conditions would have had the same problems.
fast
this race tire is fast and secure alright, but what suprised and pleased me the most is that it is also very tough, doesn't puncture easily, and has a very firm grip on all road conditions: dry, bumpy, wet, lose, muddy, etc., I've even used on small gravel-covered sections of roads that are more appropriate for mountain bike or hybrid tires. previously, with such ties as Continental or others, I've had to fix flats and even slipped more often than not under the same conditions.
Beautifully made tire
Purchased these tires to mount on my 2010 Orbea Orca. Always have liked Michelins but had to buy these with the orange sidewall as the Orca is in our "Donner Party" (a RAGBRAI group)team colors of black, orange and white. Obviously got the orange sidewall. Look awesome. Only gave it 4 stars cause I haven't put enough miles on them to fairly rate the performance of the tire.
They were hard to mount on my Campagnola Nucleons. Had to use tire irons to get them on, something I really prefer not to do.
