Customer Reviews
Sincere but badly dated
This is an interesting book but more suited for a relic than a current
tome on privacy. It was written in the early 90's and the sections on
using pay phones(virtually non-existant today), cell phones ( in their
infancy when this was written), and using Rural mail routes (now completely changed from box numbers that needed no house to
receive mail to requirements that 911 offices issue addresses based on
existing structures)make this book hopelessly outdated.
The author, while quite obviously sincere, needs to update this book
regularly if it is to be sold as a serious reference work on privacy
Good suggestions but a little dated.
There are many great suggestions for increasing your privacy even without going fully underground and off the net, but since the book was written in 1997 and the technology of the world has changed drastically since then, I recommend finding something with more recent information. Nevertheless, it was an excellent read with plenty of timeless suggestions on how to live and get along in society without drawing attention to yourself and your business.
Interesting read
Interesting read. It will definitely raise your awareness in daily interactions with human beings and technology with respect to how much information about yourself you provide.
