This is a wonderful, incredibly helpful book, full of hard to find information. I highly recommend it!
A Useful and Practical Guide
Taking prescription drugs or herbs while breastfeeding are a constant concern for nursing mothers. Shelia Humphrey's fine book is an easy-to-read guide about breastfeeding, herbs and dietary supplements.
Her conversational style is backed up by serious, solid research. The author is an IBCLC-certified lactation consultant and has studied botany at the college level. She is also an ob-gyn nurse and La Leche League leader.
I found this book to be especially useful in treating the problems and complications that often come with breastfeeding. The Nursing Mother's Herbal offered safe and natural treatments to help me combat mastitis and candida.
A must have for the nursing mom who favors natural remedies
I'm so glad to have this resource as a part of my library. After nursing my first child for 20 months and my second child for 27 months and counting, this is something I should have bought as soon as it was published. There's a quick index in the back with each herb listed alphabetically which really came in handy last weekend when I needed to verify the safety of an herbal tea for treating cold and flu symptoms. Don't wait, add it to your collection today!
