Customer Reviews

OK Book3
This book isn't all it's advertised. It, in my opinion, was pretty much the same information that my Doctor was giving me- "We don't really know.. SO you probably shouldn't do XYZ." there wasn't a whole lot of real information or study's cited. I gained more knowledge from Dr. Hale's book than this one. I would pass on this one unless you collect books, or are looking to help people- but for the everyday average mom- not a real great resource.

This is a wonderful, incredibly helpful book, full of hard to find information. I highly recommend it!

A Useful and Practical Guide5
Taking prescription drugs or herbs while breastfeeding are a constant concern for nursing mothers. Shelia Humphrey's fine book is an easy-to-read guide about breastfeeding, herbs and dietary supplements.

Her conversational style is backed up by serious, solid research. The author is an IBCLC-certified lactation consultant and has studied botany at the college level. She is also an ob-gyn nurse and La Leche League leader.

I found this book to be especially useful in treating the problems and complications that often come with breastfeeding. The Nursing Mother's Herbal offered safe and natural treatments to help me combat mastitis and candida.
