SUPER SOLDER WORKS! (perfect for mobos!)5
The new "LEAD FREE SOLDER" basically bites. You cannot effectively use it on (new) motherboards. It either rolls right off where you want the solder to adhere, or it takes way too much heat and time to heat to a melting point. So, thank the good Lord that some folks still stock regular ("LEADED")solder! I will definitely be buying more regular solder that isn't "lead free." I got mine from the folks listed here, but you can get it a lot of places on the internet. If you goto your local hardware store and/or even Wallyworld, they may or may not know how to help you out. I find it best to utilize the internet for finding out where to buy stuff online, or who might keep it on the shelves in town.

I can deal with a label or even a stamp warning about dangers involving "lead", (that's in the solder) but they are taking it out of solder, and thats making my job a real challenge. The new kind of solder does NOT work well motherboards. You can take that to the bank. My advice to anyone that works in the industry to get the regular "leaded" type of solder--and stock up on it in case it becomes "UNAVAILABLE" to us!

So, stock up on the "old school" solder if you expect to be working on any motherboards and/or other computer devices which might require solder!

Cheap, it's solder!4
I use 44 at work, ordered this spool with my WLC100. I've noticed that the flux seems to be of good quality, diameter is a good all around size. 1Lb of solder may not look like much in a picture online but I will say that it goes a LONG way. I've done roughly 2000 circuit board solder joints at work and probably haven't used 1/4lb of solder off a 1lb spool of solder. Most hobbyists and DIY'rs probably don't need 1LB of solder, but its not like solder has an expiration date so it's not a bad thing to have around. I don't see myself ever running out of this spool at home.

This is the old fashioned leaded solder with flux in the core. It works. The small diameter is suitable for a wide range of applications.
