The Stanley Story
The Stanley Works, originally a bolt and door hardware manufacturing company located in New Britain, Connecticut; was founded in 1843 by Frederick T. Stanley. A few years later, in 1857, Frederick’s cousin, Henry Stanley, founded The Stanley Rule and Level Company. In 1920, The Rule and Level Company merged with The Stanley Works and would go on to become it’s famous Hand Tools Division. Over the years, The Stanley Works has produced some of the most innovative and useful tools ever made. Among these tools are the Bailey Plane, the Surform shaper, the PowerLock tape rule and most recently the FatMax line of products. Today, more than ever, Stanley continues to be an industry leader in tool innovation. In 2001, Stanley introduced more than 100 new products, bringing to 400 the number of new products introduced in the past four years. As a direct result of Stanley’s commitment to excellence, Stanley was awarded the Prestigious Golden Hammer Award, presented for New Product Innovation in both 2000 and 2001.

Customer Reviews

These are toys3
These are cheap....now we're covered the good point. This pry bar is too thick for trim removal jobs and that sort of thing. It bends easily, so its not really a pry bar, except when working on a Barbie house. For good small pry bars, worth many times the difference in price, try the Hyde # 45000 pry bar or the Titan #17005.

Save Your Money, Pass On This Item1
Part of the title is correct, "Wonder". Cause after you receive this item you will wonder why you bought it. Stanley is a big name, but this item is a toy, not a tool. It is made out of 3/16 X 7/8" flat bar. It is to short to give the proper leverage. No design flaws, just to small and thinly made. It does however have a cute two tone paint scheme. If you pull this out of your tool bag on any site, the other workers would laugh you off the job. This one will stay hidden in my roll aroung tool box. I would have given it a zero, but that wasn't an option. Save your money, spend it on something else.

Cant beat it for the price4
For the price, everyone should have one of these in their toolbox. Its great for those times where you need a little bit of leverage in a small place. I have personally found mine most usefull as a helper when hanging a door, it was just the right size and thickness.

Due to its thickness, this is not a strong pry bar and it does have some flex, but it will do for anything a reasonable person would attempt with a 7" long pry bar. The relatively thin thickness is also what makes this pry bar so handy, it is not that thick bar of steel like most pry bars, this thing is only slightly thicker than a stamped piece of sheet metal.

If you dont expect a "real" pry bar when you order this, you will be very happy with what you get, especially for the price.
