Milwaukee Really "Nailed it"!!
I just picked up 5 of these for my crew. We have used several different brands in the past, but these are hands down our favorite. The unit is very light weight, which is important when you are using it all day. This gun also has a switch that you can flip with your thumb to change it from single fire to contact fire. The other feature that I really like is that it has a reload inidcator that lets you know when you are out of nails.

I will update again when we have used them for a few months, but as of right now I couldn't be happier with all the features that this gun has.

Great Nailer, Good price
I just recieved it yesterday and used it for a few hours today. The nailer is reasonably light. I am used to working with trim carpentry and those nailers are much smaller and lighter than this one. Once I got the feel for it I did not even notice the weight difference. I shoot left handed even though this is really designed for a righty. I did not have ergonomic issues.

One thing that I can not stand is why Milwaukee can not just include the 3/8 NPT adapter. I pulled it all out of the box and was bummed I had to go to the store to buy an adapter. All of my spares and couplers are 1/4". Another thing I don't understand is why it can not come with a case. I have 3 other nailers and they all came with cases. In its defense it does come with a rafter hook, which is nice but can get in the way if you do not use it. I would rather have a box.

Of course I knew about no box when I bought it. I wanted this nailer and there is no way around it.

I shot approx 300 2-3/8" galvinized coated nails today. They were made by grip-rite and had a collation angle of 21 degrees. The gun says only 22 degree nails should be used. Milwaukee only sells 21 degree. Go figure. Basically if anyone is wondering...most all Round Head framers can use any nail that is 20-22 degrees.

I had zero jams. I was not bump firing so I do know how it would fare with that. I am sure there would be no problem. The gun can be converted to bumb fire with the twist of a knob. Very cool. The slide mechanism is made of plastic and seems little flimsy. It does its job though. The height adjustment is great. It is effortless and tool less and it worked perfect.

I can not imagine this gun having problems with sinking larger nails. I shot every thing at 100psi and it was more than enough to sink these nails deep. Aside from my gripe above the nailer worked perfectly and I would purchase again. If you can live without having a box and running to the store to buy a 3/8 adapter than this gun is of good value.

It really deserves 4.5 stars. Milwaukee, the least you could do is include a 3/8" adapter. Thats just being cheap!

Great feel, super light, but made in Taiwan!
I am a General Contractor and I have used a few different framing nailers over the last year. I have tried Porter Cable (I hope you like nail jams), Hitachi (double fire king, but never dies), and Max (could get a really good gun or a piece of jamming crap, just depends on which box comes off the shelf). I purchased the Milwaukee due to raving reviews, but when I received it I saw that it was made in Taiwan. Damn. Unless you want a Bostich (made by Stanley), it looks like you're out of luck when it comes to finding a framing nailer made in America. I almost returned it for the familiar and job site dominant Hitachi, but I decided to keep it and I am very glad I did. The nailer is super light, very, very smooth, and I can adjust it to sink nails in sheathing without breaking the top ply, which is code. It fires very consistently and is surprisingly quiet. It does NOT have that annoying hollow ping that the Hitachi's have. I also chose not to get the Hitachi because it is has a top loading magazine, which is annoying, and the Milwaukee has a much easier and faster rear loading magazine. The Milwaukee does have a lot of plastic on the gun, but so does just about every framing nailer on the market now. I like the 360 degree exhaust, the convenient switch to change from contact fire to sequential, rafter hook included although plastic, and I also like the overall looks of the gun. So far I have only shot about 1,000 nails so I can't comment on it's reliability, but zero jams so far. Only thing that could make this gun better is if Milwaukee didn't sell to a company from Taiwan, and if it had a little less plastic parts.
