Better than the hitachi?
First off. I do not do roofing full time, I am a remodeler, I do a few houses a year. The guy I work with has the Hitachi NV45AB but we needed to have another gun this fall. I buy nothing but high quality tools, and most professional roofers use the Hitachi. I did a lot of comparing before I decided on this gun. The thing that got me was the price, I got a very good deal on this gun from the contractor tool store.
After using this gun and the Hitachi NV45AB on three roofs last month(about 100 square), here are my observations. (I have used the Hitachi for a few years)
The Milwaukee is lighter without a doubt, much nicer to carry around all day.
The nail loading mechanism is much nicer on the Milwaukee. You only have to open the feed flip, and the coil comes open too. The hitachi has a separate clip to open the coil, and it is underneath so you have to turn the gun upsidedown to load it. (that may seem like not a big deal, but when you are putting in a new coil every 5 minutes it is a big deal)(I believe hitachi's new nailer has the side load mechanism as well)
The rubber side grips are nice, it will stay on a 7/12 pitch.
You can move the shingle guide without an allen wrench.
It shot 1-3/4 nails much better than the hitachi.
I am not sure why they put sequential and bump firing modes on this gun. If you want to have any speed at all you will always use bump mode. Anyways, that isnt a problem, it just seems strange on a roofing gun.

It is comfortable to use, and I never had any jams. It comes with a nice molded case.

Good performing tool
I was a little apprehensive about purchasing a tool that is brand new to the market, but having owned and operated various Milwaukee power tools for a number of years, and reading other reviews of this specific coil nailer, I decided to give it a go. I am a professional contractor and have used Porter Cable coil roofing nailers before trying the Milwaukee. I found the Milwaukee to be very smooth, and experienced minimal jams. It also required less air pressure to achieve proper nail driven depth, although this posed to be an issue as I was running Porter Cable nailers on the same line. I added an additional pressure regulator and took care of that problem. The bumpers on the gun proved to be useful a number of times and prevented the gun from sliding off the roof. I gave the nose attachment a whirl (for auto-positioning the nails by butting the attachment up against the shingle edge) but found it to be an annoyance as well as slowing me down. Coil changes were very easy - quicker and smoother than the Porter Cable. I'll replace one of my PC guns with another Milwaukee when it fails.

Works Great!!
I ordered this nailer to reroof my house and it has worked flawlessly, it drives the nails to the same depth everytime and is easy to use. The selectable trigger is a nice feature. I would easily recommend it.
