The Usborne Internet-Linked First Encyclopedia of Our WorldThe Usborne Internet-Linked First Encyclopedia of Our World by Felicity Brooks
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $2.49
This is the WTM suggested text for 2nd grade, which is fine by itself but I wanted more to our studies and feel a 2nd grader is needing a little bit more. Really love the internet-linked activites!

The Geography Book: Activities for Exploring, Mapping, and Enjoying Your WorldThe Geography Book: Activities for Exploring, Mapping, and Enjoying Your World by Caroline Arnold
Buy new: $10.17 / Used from: $7.85
Perfect for elementary students learning about geography and earth science. It is a perfect blend with activities that seems simple to the adult but leave a HUGE impression on the kids. Regular household items for experiments & The Geography Book is all academics, no worries about creation or evolution, it's not even a thought! I recommend this all the time.
Childcraft World and Space (The How and Why Library Vol. 4)Childcraft World and Space (The How and Why Library Vol. 4)
Buy used from: $0.96
Childcraft's How and Why Library is perfect for elem. children. The text is written for children without the usual "dummying" down that occurs when an author is trying to make things simple for little ones to understand. There are poems, stories, and non-fiction selections that delight whoever reads them.

Seeing Stars: Shining Star LightSeeing Stars: Shining Star Light by Charles Hobson
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $6.99
Excellent product, very effective and better than any planetarium that will break! This is about the size of a deck of cards (a little bigger) so it is perfect for skygazing or just discovering constellations on your ceiling.
Celestron SkyMaster Giant 15x70 Binoculars with Tripod AdapterCelestron SkyMaster Giant 15x70 Binoculars with Tripod Adapter
Buy new: $49.99 / Used from: $38.99
Great price for a great product! We contemplated getting a telescope but decided to go the binocular route and we're so glad we did! It is beneficial to get a tripod for these, they get heavy and children can't hold them steady, but wonderful VIEWS!
The Space Book: Activities for Experiencing the Universe and the Night SkyThe Space Book: Activities for Experiencing the Universe and the Night Sky by Marc McCutcheon
Buy used from: $0.01
I wasn't happy with the curriculum choices of science programs, the programs are either not academic enough or too much. This book is great for introducing astronomy to elementary students with projects using household items! You won't need anything else unless you want to add. Recommend 2nd grade and up.
A Child's Introduction to the Night Sky: The Story of the Stars, Planets, and Constellations--and How You Can Find Them in the SkyA Child's Introduction to the Night Sky: The Story of the Stars, Planets, and Constellations--and How You Can Find Them in the Sky by Michael Driscoll
Buy new: $13.57 / Used from: $8.96
Absolutely wonderful! It even tells you the history of how the planets were named after Roman gods, the text is visually stimulating, the divisions of the book is a logical progression instead of a jumbled mess. Our children love this book, even just to look at and the stickers and star finder is an added bonus!
