The Perky-Pet® Squirrel-Be-Gone Wild Bird Feeder III features 9 feeding ports, U-shaped perches, 3 separate seed tubes that allow for a variety of seed types and holds 8 lbs. of seed. The interior seed tower is surrounded by rustic metalwork. The feeding ports have sturdy metal perches that allow birds to feed comfortably-but, when the squirrels perch on them, their weight causes the entire metal casing to slip down, completely blocking the feeding ports and their access to the seed. The nine perch/feeding station set-up, coupled with the anti-squirrel technology makes this feeder one of the most economical and convenient on the market! The three clear, seed tubes make it easy to monitor seed levels. Remember to clean your feeder once every two weeks with mild soap and water solution. Comes fully assembled with seed tray. Perky-Pet® is the leading supplier of Wild Bird Feeders and Accessories. Perky-Pet® Wild Bird Feeder models lure the bird in pursuit of seed—providing you with hours of joy as random wild birds flock to feed at your house.

Customer Reviews
worked for awhile
Well, it seemed to work for a few months. Then the plastic inserts began to fall out and the seed won't stay in. I cut some plastic replacements from a milk jug and these worked for a month or so, but more of the originals keep falling out. Three are gone, and the feeder is not a year old yet. My feeder hangs under the house overhang and so is not rained on; no problems with the spring, though the "stop" that keeps the cage from going too far down fell out fairly soon (I just put a piece of wire in its place). Grackle can feed at this feeder well. Larger birds such as blue jays and a large woodpecker will occasionally hang onto it in some way, but they don't persist. Purple finch and gold finch like it; I get some cardinals even (with black oil sunflower).
Short term effectiveness
This feeder worked brilliantly when it was new.
A spring of heavy rains rusted out the mechanism so severely that it stopped falling smoothly and my little furry friends figured out how to hang so the cage wouldn't budge.
Not effective after one season.
Looks good, limited effectiveness
Let's face it, squirrels are just rats with bushy tails. They can gnaw, thwart, ruin and get into ANYTHING. This feeder is no exception. It only slows them down...a bit. Our PhD squirrels learned how to just push the entire feeder sideways so seed just trails out...this after the weather/squirrel gnawing combo ruined the mechanisms that allowed the holes to close down. It looks pretty. Just don't expect it to be squirrel proof.
