Amazon.com Product Description
The SpotBot from Bissell takes care of carpet stains that are new, old, large, small, and everything in between. In one surface stain cycle, the Unique Spiral Brushing action completes over 400 cleaning revolutions, for thorough and effective removal of tough stains. Red wine, cola, fruit juice, coffee, and even pets stains permanently disappear under the powerful cleaning bristles of this compact green cleaning machine. For best results, use Bissell's specially formulated chemicals like OxyGen II and Little Green Formula.
The SpotBot has two cleaning modes: hands-free and manual. In hands-free mode, the SpotBot is easier to use than a toaster oven. Just fill with water and cleaning fluid, select your stain type, and then walk away. Within seven minutes, its 24-inch circumference cleaning head does everything else for you. For larger stains or ones that require some extra elbow grease, use the Tough Stain Brush that attaches to the hose. The hose and brush are stored on board for versatile cleaning of stairs, auto, and upholstery.
Before treating any stain, you should first:
• Gently scrape up semi-solids with a spoon or spatula. Do not use a knife or other utensil with sharp edges because it could damage the carpet or upholstery. • Blot up liquids with an absorbent cloth or paper towels. White materials are recommended because certain dyes may bleed and make the stain worse. • Remove the remaining semi-solids and residue with a sweeper or vacuum. • Be sure to pre-test any spot removal solutions or chemicals on an inconspicuous area first. This is extremely important; different dyes and materials could be damaged or discolored by a cleaning solution. If such a change should occur, try a different solution or call a professional.

Customer Reviews
Thank you, Bissell!
I used my SpotBot in what must have been the craftroom/kennel/gym of the previous owners. The nasty nylon carpet that came with the house is extremely reluctant to give up stains, but the SpotBot cleaned up oil and crusted-on soda spills easily. It even made significant inroads into smears of oil-based black paint. The ability to switch between automated and manual modes was helpful. On the worst stains, I ran a couple of automated cycles, then switched to manual mode and scrubbed. This is much more effective and powerful than my (good quality) carpet steamer. Yes, it does use a lot of cleaning fluid, and it takes time to address every stain (at least, if your carpet looks like this one). But it is still cheaper and faster than replacing flooring!
Cleans SMALL spots nicely.
The machine works as advertised, giving a wet soapy scrub and automatic vacuuming to spots about 6 inches (15 cm) in diameter. Like most carpet washers, it leaves some water -- expect to wait 24 hours for the spot to dry completely.
If your carpet tends to get small spots on it, this machine is ideal -- place it down, press Start, and walk away for 3 to 6 minutes.
The reservoir is small, so you can only clean about 4 spots before emptying the dirty water and refilling the clean soapy water.
There is also a handheld attachment for manual cleaning, but it's rather annoying to use because it is extremely narrow. Don't expect to clean anything wider than 3 inches, and expect to scrub a lot.
SpotBot not so Hot
Stay away from this carpet cleaner. I've had two in two years and both are in the landfill. First one lasted for 5 uses then went dead. To their credit the company did a "cord cut" (you cut the cord and send it to them to prove the machine is junk) and sent me a refurbished machine. Second Machine lasted 3 uses and also went dead. No power to either one. I contacted Bissel who said I was out of luck with warranty and I should take it to a certified repair shop. I did, the repair technician told me SpotBot electronics are junk. He said I could try hitting the machine where the circut board is. So I did. Surpise it started working again! Got one more use out of it before it died for good. Bissel is ok company, this is just a bad design. Go with Green Machine, it's more reliable and less expensive. Besides SpotBot leaves little clean circles in your carpet.
