Introducing the VPX Lithium-Ion Battery System
Black & Decker's advanced, powerful VPX system guarantees the convenience of a rechargeable battery with maximum versatility. At the center of the VPX system is the 7-volt high-energy VPX rechargeable battery, which features breakthrough lithium-ion technology to generate more energy in a smaller package. The end result is a battery that's super-compact and 60-percent lighter than Black & Decker's Ni-Cad power tool batteries. And the VPX holds a charge longer, too -- so it's ready to work whenever you are.

With its versatile design and Black & Decker exclusive technology, a VPX battery is interchangeable with all the products in Black & Decker's growing VPX line. Swap out one battery for the flashlight, inflator, screwdriver, USB power source, cut saw, or 7-volt drill driver; or double the juice with two batteries to operate the 14-volt drill driver or the hand vac. And of course, every VXP battery and compatible product features the rugged, dependable construction you expect from an industry leader in home power tools.

Best of all, it's powered by a single 7-volt VPX battery that is fully interchangeable with other VPX products.

This drill/driver is a VPX expansion product with the VPX battery and charger sold separately.

Customer Reviews

Nice and strong little lightweight 5
I have this and really like the drill, it has a lot of power for a 7 volt. It has a clutch and fits into small spaces. Its the perfect size and wont make your arms hurt if you have to work overhead. I would recommend it. Keep in minde it doesn't come with the battery. I hag the starter set that came with the batteries and charger so i did not need to purchase extra when i got the drill. Enjoy!

Nice little driver for household chores4
I just got this little driver today. I used it to hang cabinets and towel bars in my bathroom, then assembled a file cabinet shortly after I got home. I bought it for doing much of the light duty things I do at work. Being in building maintenance, I can't think of a better way to test it out. I own an 18 volt DeWalt drill and lugging that monster around can get pretty old when you use it to drive a few screws then lug it back down 7 floors.

Not as advertised1
I must have a variable speed trigger in purchasing any drill. Although it clearly states in the section titled About The VPX 7 volt Drill/Driver that it has this feature, IT AINT SO.
