It's pretty safe to say that none of the other movies on this list would even exist if it wasn't for this one. It's the end-all be-all of slasher films. Surprisingly enough there is hardly any blood in this film. John Carpenter is able to scare his audience by the overwhelming sense of dread that is felt during this entire film. 10/10

This film doesn't have anything to do with Michael Myers. I've never seen it, but I hear it sucks. ?/10

Dannielle Harris is still good, and there is a sequence where Michael stalks one of his victims in her house in broad daylight which is great, however, other than that the movie is dissapointing. Plot holes, bad acting, and a cast of characters that for the most part you just wish would be killed off, plus Michael's mask just looks dumb in this movie, and there are no memorable kills. 6/10

Good sequel. Fast paced and to the point. Michael's mask looks great. The movie does, however, ignore Halloween parts 4,5, and 6 and pretends that the events in those films never happened. Some good kills but nothing that really sticks out. 8/10

Half prequel/half remake of the classic. It's good but not as good as the original. Spends too much time on Michael as a child. Huge increase in body count over the older films. As for the "unrated" cut, not much stood out from the theatrical version that I could remember with the exception of a pretty disturbing rape scene. The movie as a whole is more disturbing than it should have been. 7.5/10

Jason makes his first real appearance in this film. Faster paced than its predecessor. Bad acting and corny diologue continue. Best kill=man in wheelchair whacked in the face with a machete and then pushed down the stairs. 8/10

They really amp up the gore in this one. Luckily it also has the best story and acting. Corey Feldman, as much as I hate to admit it, does a great job in this film. Best kill=girl yanked out of upstairs window and lands on top of a station wagon. 9/10

This is the first appearance of "undead" Jason. Fast paced, funny and full of memorable kills. Way better acting than its predecessor. Best kill= face mashed against the side of an RV. 9.5/10

Kane Hodder is still Jason, which is the best part about this movie. This is also the longest film in the franchise, so it moves a little slow in places, plus alot of it doesn't make sense. Some good kills and amusing scenes. Best kill= Jason punching some guy's head off. 6.5/10

I'm still not sure what to say about this movie. It's definitely a terrible film, however, there are parts of it I can't help but enjoy. Probably falls under the category of awesomely bad. Best kill= face frozen, then smashed against counter. As a serious film 5/10...as a goofy movie that pokes fun at itself 7.5/10

A huge step down from the first one. Not scary at all. It ignores most of the mythology established in the first film, and a lot of what happens is incomprehensible. Plus, the main guy screams like an eleven year old girl. Best kill=Freddy going to town on some teenagers at a pool party. 5.5/10

Picks up shortly after Dream Warriors left off, and is a better film. Freddy is definately cooler in this one than he was in the previous two films. Still doesn't quite capture the greatness of the original. Best kill= Waterbed. 8.5/10

Better than the last one. Still not scary at all, but Freddy does have some funny lines. Good story and above average acting, for the franchise. Still not really any memorable kills. 7/10

Probably won't save a whole lot of money on this set, but it does come with a pretty nice color booklet and 3-D glasses for Freddy's Dead, with a bonus disk.
