Each design has full instructions and easy-to-follow colored piecing diagrams. About the Author
Kaffe Fassett is a bestselling author and designer who passionately believes that anyone can participate in and enjoy creative crafts. His books include Patchwork, Passionate Patchwork, Kaffe Fassett's Pattern Library, Kaffe's Classics, Family Album, and Mosaics all published by The Taunton Press.
Liza Prior Lucy collaborated with Kaffe on his previous patchwork books and is a quilt, needlepoint and knitting designer of many years' experience. She lives in Pennsylvania.
Customer Reviews
Another gorgeous, inspiring book from Kaffe Fassett
Once again the color and pattern combinations are extraordinary. It's the kind of book to curl up with and pore over each fabulous page for hours, but it also inspires me to jump up and get out there to get going on a new project.
I've made projects with patterns from other Kaffee Fassett books and I've never been disappointed with the results. This one is another winner.
Inspiration to Last a Lifetime!
Master class colorist and decorative arts guru Kaffe Fassett has done it again. Kaffe takes quilt making to a very sophisticated level in this collectable book through his designer fabrics, design inspiration from the Victoria and Albert Museum, and his own creative imagination and genius. Each quilt is beautifully displayed within the museum making these pages artwork in and of themselves that you could frame for your own studio. Whether you are an advanced quilter and want to make something fast, or a beginner quilter that requires a simple pattern, your results will be extraordinary with Kaffe's 'utility' patterns using his museum quality fabrics. For intermediate quilters, Kaffe has taken some classic quilt patterns and turned them into show stopping exhibition quilts through his creative use of color and contemporary interpretations of traditional designs. An example of this is his Wedding Snowball Quilt made out of blue and white fabrics that mirror the blue delft ceramic tiles on display in the museum. Finally, for the truly gifted quilter, there are several master class quilts that are truly inspiring and aspirational for those who are ready for the challenge.
Better and better...
Each collection of quilts from Kaffe just gets better and better and this book is no exception. The combinations of color and design in every book with Kaffe Fassett's name are always a winner. Most patterns are suitable for both the beginner and expert (and there are also a few challenging patterns for those who appreciate accomplishing projects with that extra degree of difficulty). Patterns and instructions are very complete and the color combinations are very inspiring and interesting. Museum Quilts will be a welcome addition to any quilter's bookshelf.
