Customer Reviews
NICHT GUT
These are not airtight. They received a low rating from America's Test Kitchen but I did not see that episode until after I had received these bags. They cannot protect food in the freezer because the fancy zipper fails to seal the bag. Go with the Glad freezer bags.
Excellent for what I need
I regularly use my OneZip bags to freeze food for short term storage. I cannot speak to how it compares with other products for this purpose (e.g., America's Test Kitchen).
Potential customers should realize that there are other possible uses for this product line. For example, I store 5lb. bags of rice in the gallon size. The zipping mechanism that Hefty uses is much more reliable that the "line up the grooves and run from one end to the other" method of ZipLock. I'm not arguing the rice (or whatever) is better protected, but I am less worried about potential spills.
Which brings me to use #2 - One zip bags are a dream for storing small parts and tools. I use them all the time for organizing and safely storing electronic parts and cabling (in larger sizes) - of course, electronics which are static sensitive should be kept within specialized anti-static bags, but those bags are readily and safely stored in the one zips. I've had lots of failures with the Ziplock brand.
For my purposes, this product line is ideal.
