Buy new: $3.60 My feet were freezing. My hospital provided fuzzy socks to wear during surgery, which was nice. Later I switched to my own slipper socks. While in bed I had compression leg pumps that went off every few minutes. They help prevent blood clots. I did not mind them, actually felt kind of good.

Buy new: $3.08 - $19.95 I'm not a regular wearer of 'granny panties' but it did occur to me when packing that the low incision I was hoping for - like a c-section- would not like the pressure of my usual low rise undergarments. Yes, the hospital provided lovely mesh things to wear, which I did for the first two days. I like all my bootie covered in a hospital gown.

Ever optimistic I brought my own nightie. I would normally wear pajama pants. Movement hurts. BAD. It is much more comfortable to slip a nightie over your head than to try and wriggle into pants. Trust me, this was my fourth abdominal surgery. Plus you have nurses coming in at all hours to look at your incision etc.

Buy new: $10.00 I had permission near the end of my hospital stay to have a shower. I admit even the sponge bath felt good but the shower was heaven. I do not need any special soap for my incision. Last week my doctor removed the tape bandages. He said I could use nail polish remover to remove residue.

Buy new: $14.19 - $27.99 I departed the hospital in a yoga pants. I went a size up for a looser fit. I have to say, the WORST thing I experienced in the whole ordeal was the ride home. I had surgery Feb 11th. On Valentines Day I was released. Movement hurts. Hurts deep inside for this type of incision. I felt every bump and pothole. Make sure you are plenty doped up before you get in the car.

Buy new: $16.89 It's great to be loved! But how do you get all the flowers home when it's just you and your senior citizen ma? I had her bring a laundry basket. She and the nurse put all my flowers $ gifts in the basket and a shopping bag. It did the trick. For me, no lifting anything over 10 pounds for 6 weeks.

Leaving hospital- Have whoever picks you up to take you home put a pillow in the car. Before you buckle the seat belt put the pillow in front of you. It will help cushion the seat belt across your waist. Cuz the seat belt does not feel good. I had surgery Feb 11th. I do not have permission to drive till March 30th.
