From the Manufacturer
The ButtKicker BK-GR2 Gamer is awesome for gaming, computer entertainment, and digital music playback. This device works with all computer systems and all gaming consoles, and allows you to feel the low end of sounds without making the room overly loud. With the ButtKicker Gamer you can experience powerful bass even while you're using headphones. But what is it and how does it work? The ButtKicker is a small linear motor that reacts to an audio signal sent by an amplifier. The ButtKicker Gamer comes with its own 90-watt amplifier that is convection-cooled with vents so there’s no noisy fan. It also includes a wired remote control so you can stash the amp out of sight and still operate its core features. It is similar to a loudspeaker, but instead of a moving a cone and transferring sound waves through the air, the ButtKicker Gamer is attached to your seat and sends a low frequency sound directly into your body. The effect is amazing.

With the Buttkicker Gamer you can turn down or turn off your subwoofer and still feel all the bass you want. Experience powerful bass even while using headphones. It is ideal for apartment or dormitory use. The ButtKicker Gamer easily attaches to most standard center post chairs. The ButtKicker Gamer brings all types of gaming to life, including sim racing and flight simulation. Feel the power of an engine, gear shifts and even crashes.
The human body uses two senses to perceive full-range sound. We hear sound, but we also feel it, especially low frequencies. Traditionally it takes big speakers to move a tremendous amount of air for us to feel low frequency sound. That's why so many people love loud concerts -- they want to feel the music as well as hear it. The ButtKicker Gamer reproduces the feeling range of audio in a more direct way than through air movement. The perception is actually better, plus the sound pressure disappears (forget about ringing ears!). For example, when using headphones with the BK-GR2, you'll still perceive powerful, musically accurate, concert-level audio, but no one else will hear anything.
The ButtKicker Gamer can take your gaming experience to an awesome level without angering your neighbors. To get the full effect of exciting, action-packed video game titles you'd normally need a huge audio entertainment system that you could pump up to a disturbing-the-peace level. The ButtKicker Gamer solves the problem and adds the big bass sound without the giant, disruptive volume.
Designed to be responsive and aggressive, the ButtKicker Gamer answers the need for both accurate low frequency response and maximum tactile effect. Digital music playback, gaming, and computer entertainment have never been so realistic or intense. Virtually indestructible and maintenance free, with a patented magnetic suspension system and a thermal switch for heat protection, the BK-GR2 provides tremendous power and longevity. For the workplace or home, the ButtKicker Gamer easily attaches to most standard center post chairs. And with the included "Easy Clamp" mechanism hooking up the ButtKicker Gamer is a breeze. Once the ButtKicker is attached, you'll feel the low end of sound without making the room unbearably loud. Turn down or turn off your subwoofer and you'll still be able to feel all the bass you want. And remember, you'll be able to experience powerful bass even while using headphones, making this an ideal addition to any apartment, dormitory, or condominium.
What They're Saying
From "iGames" magazine
I wasn't’t sure what fate had in mind when I unpacked the Buttkicker and got it set up. I know that many of you think “buttkicker” and think of an older brother or cousin beating the tar out of you for no reason. No my friends, this is a device that enhances your overall “entertainment” experience by amplifying low frequency sounds and it connects to a chair.
International Flight-Sim Convention
The winner of this year's CES Innovation Award didn't go to some great computer device that makes computers quicker or quieter, or to anything with a lowercase I before it's name, but rather to a product that straps onto your chair, sends thumping vibrations through your seat.

Great for drummers!
I wanted to write this review for those drummers out there who want a little extra "kick" in their bass drum. I use a nice monitor when our band plays out but still don't get that deep "thump" from my bass drum to help keep me in the pocket.
I just received the buttkicker today and hooked it up to my computer just to feel the bass from my cd's. It really works. I was quite surprised at the power this thing puts out. I then hooked it up to my Roland digital drums I practice on. I have a direct out for my bass drum pad which I plugged into the Buttkicker. My throne was a rockin'. This really gave me that deep thump I was looking for. Kudos to the Guitammer company.
I haven't yet hooked this up to our band's P.A. system and used it with my real drums but I'm planning on doing the same thing - taking a direct out from my bass drum channel (on our mixer) and plugging it into the Buttkicker amp. Hopefully everything will work out well. If I encounter any problems I'll write another review to explain.
I wasn't able to find any reviews for drummers who have used this product so I wanted to write one myself to help my fellow drummers out.
ButtKicker Kicks Up Gaming!
It attaches to the post of the chair and reacts to the bass response from the game. Works very well with headphones (you can't feel the bass in headphones) Very good for first person shooters and sports games. Music with iPod is very enjoyable. Build quality is much better than most "gaming" electronics.
A rumble-pack for your chair!
I was a bit skeptical about this product even after reading the numerous positive reviews, but after a few hours of gameplay, I am a very happy customer. I really didn't understand how this product relayed the vibration, but after attaching it securely to an underside bar on my Playseat, it works perfectly by transferring vibrations throughout the entire seat. I am now encompassed by low-end rumble every time a certain amount of bass is detected by the unit. Probably the best effect so far is the awesome feel of firing a shotgun in a game... BOOM! The only drawback to the system is the amplifier/control unit itself, which is much larger than I expected. Don't let the out-of-scale pictures fool you, it's roughly the size of an Xbox.
