It had been announced for 2006, then for 2007 and then for October 2008. GRRM is still writing but is going ever so slowly, and there are great doubts about his dedication. I would have dropped this long ago if it weren't my favorite series. Edit: In September 2009 the book is still not done, so not out before Spring 2010.
