Goddess Rising
I was initially drawn to Almine because of the sparkling energy that animates her books. And the force is strong with this one. It is her most intense work so far.

Isis came at the dawn of the patriarchy, when women had begun to think of themselves as inferior to men. She came to remind the world of the Mother Goddess. She created the Isis libraries, and it is parts of these that Almine has accessed and translated.

In previous books Almine has spoken of the horizontal, feminine axis from which arises the vertical, masculine axis of the Tree of Life and God the Father. The horizontal feminine is the heart (love), while the vertical masculine is mind (light) - note that all males and females have both within them. The Infinite Being is for the most part hermaphroditic, but ultimately feminine because it is the feminine principle which gives birth. She nevertheless contains all the masculine as well.

Some of the accessed information from the Isis libraries concerns the historical phenomenon of corrupt masculine cosmic rule. On Earth this manifested as the patriarchy, while cosmically it triggered descension and the Great Fall. And although Isis speaks primarily of the horrors perpetuated by the false "god of truth", the principle remains the same. When mind creates on its own, it creates without feeling, and must therefore lead to downfall and destruction.

NB: "Opening the Doors of Heaven" heralds the dawn of the advent of the Goddess on Earth. The major way in which this advent is already visible today is in the various manifestations of the so-called New Media. The vertical, industrial Old Media with its static, exclusive 'old boys club' hierarchy has come under serious pressure. It must and will adapt, and those parts that do not shall perish. We now witness the rise of the heterarchical, inclusive, peer-to-peer paradigm of YouTube, Wikipedia, the podcast realm and the blogosphere. The horizontal axis is truly re-emerging.

This book is a fascinating read. I experience my consciousness and awareness expanding each time I pick up and read Almine's books.

Above the rest
Almine always writes a great book, and this is no exception. I am a voracious reader, so it was wonderful hearing about the ancient libraries opening up for us to read now.
