Product Description

God has given us an opportunity to practice our love for Him by practicing our unconditional love for one another. He has established the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman to illustrate the marriage covenant He has with us. God has commanded us to love Him, our neighbor, and ourselves. We get to practice, and practice, and practice loving each other, while we await the return of His Son, Jesus. Marriage is forever, God does not approve of divorce. Divorce is a sin and sin is never tolerated by God. When someone sins, death is assigned to them (James 1:15 and Ecclesiastes 8:11). God established the marriage covenant between Himself and mankind first, and between a "man" and a "woman" second. God warns us not to break our vows to Him (Ecclesiastes 5:4-6). The vows made at the wedding ceremony are forever. God's plan for marriage is a vowed relationship between a man (not a male) and a woman (not a female). Only a man and woman have reached the maturity level to be married. God establishes the family unit first. A husband and a wife are a family. Children do not make families. Families make children.

Customer Reviews

A Book that Focuses on Relationships and Centers on Christ's Relationship with the Church. I Highly Recommend It.5
Leo Bogee starts the book with the three areas of personal growth and they are: relationships, leadership and an awareness of whom you are as a person. These areas are encompassed in "The Road to Self-Worth and makes relationships the first part of the three-part journey. The book addresses the first area, relationships, and Bogee indicates that leadership would soon follow.

Actually, Bogee began to write about leadership, but noted that a leader ascends only by relationships that are developed. As pastor/teacher and former military leader, the writer points out that military leadership is `fear-based' and church leadership is `vision-based'. The Road to Self-Worth is centered on the concept of Jesus Christ and his marriage to the church. Bogee notes that Jesus is the Head of the church and the church is the bride of Christ.

After the development of the fact that this book is for believers and nonbelievers alike, it is noted that believers should transform themselves into disciples and nonbeliever can look for the answers to life's problems. In order to get the revelation, Bogee enters into a discussion on how man separated himself from God through sin. He develops this part of the book from Genesis, describing how Satan was thrown from heaven. Also, there is a discussion on how Noah's family was spared based upon their desire to live a righteous life. This regeneration of the planet set forth the stage of the "Seed" being planted. This "Seed" is a person that would come from a woman and be Most Powerful, and able to crush the head of the devil.

From there the book goes into God's order and how marriage is God's way. Then the book goes into exactly what a marriage represents. Primarily this covenant is between man and woman. Bogee also mentions how God strongly detests the homosexual act. The book not only defines marriage, but also the progression of it. The four stages of relationships are: honeymoon, conflict, communication, the growth and marriages in ministry.

Bogee makes the transition from marriage to relationships in a more generic way towards the end of the book. There, the discussion turns to Bogee's belief that in order to have a good relationship, you have to know who you are. It is at that point when the author talks about whom we are as it is defined in the Bible. He notes that there are many examples in the Old and New Testament that tell us who we are.

The book ends with Love, Gods love. God is love and love never fails.
