not essential for under 3 months, but it's cute and my baby started to play with it a little at 2 months, and is now really enjoying it at 6 months. Update: at 7 months, he's getting a bit bored with it.

Excellent quality bottles. My son mostly drinks from these and has not had any colic. If you don't mind having to wash a few extra parts or spend a bit more money, I highly recommend them.

My research indicated that this was, far and away, the best baby tub. All one piece. No fabric that can get mildewy. It's big, but that's because it's intended to be used from newborn to toddler. One side keeps your newborn safely in place, the other side allows your toddler to sit up in the tub. Unless you have limited space, this is the tub you should get.

Great to have, whether you're breastfeeding or not. Use it to prop up baby, especially for bottle feeding. And my favorite thing about it is all the cute covers you can get for it, which are machine washable.

They are little plush animals which have a Soothie pacifier (the kind they give you at the hospital) sewn into their mouths. It helps keep the pacifier in place and gives baby something to play with, once his hands start exploring.

This is the car seat we use. I chose it because it had some of the highest ratings and is usable up to 30 pounds. The only downside is that it's probably one of the heaviest car seats, so you'd better be in good shape if you want to carry it around!

We have this but haven't used it yet because it's for older babies who are eating solids. But my brother and sister-in-law used a similar bib for their kids and it's definitely a must-have. Keeps their whole upper body clean and you simply rinse it off after each use. Update: time to start using this; baby getting coated in nanners!

I can't tell you how enamored I am with Haba toys. I want to collect them all! If he's good, I might let my baby play with them too. ;-)

No blankets allowed in baby's bed, this is a great alternative.

I noticed this had mixed reviews, but my baby loves it. We used it to experiment with rice cereal for the first time and I sometimes sit him in it by his play mat to play with the toys from a different angle.

Very cute, high quality, safe materials. The spoons fit perfectly in his little hands and they seem to feel good in his mouth when he gnaws on them with his toothless gums. So far, he hasn't managed to fling the bowl off the high chair. (although the spoons have seen plenty of air time...)

You can hang it or just let your baby hold it. I used to hang from the play mat, to mix things up for him.

Again, no plastic, interesting textures, moving discs. No cute caterpillar face, though. ;-)

Cute, no plastic, safe and functional (keeps the pacifier from getting lost when we go out). He often plays with the little guy too. :-)

My 7-month-old LOVES to bounce and jump. Apparently this is not uncommon. It's also not uncommon for mommy/daddy/grandma/grandpa's arms to wear out after too much lap bouncing. That's where the Jumperoo comes in! Great success!

Smooooooth ride! Highly effective brake (it barely budges when it's engaged). Only complaint is that it could use more cargo room.
