Once placed inside of your dryer where it stays secure, heat, plus the tumbling movement of your clothes, allows for the transfer of fabric softener. Install & Replace Over time, you'll notice the bar beginning to wear away, and usually in about 2 or 4 months*, depending on the size of the bar, it will need to be replaced. 1.) Yes, the Dryer Bar has been tested to show that it's safe for both HE and regular household dryers. In fact, it's even recommended by the Kenmore brand. Will it stick safely in my dryer? When installed properly, the adhesive will remain stuck to the dryer drum until removed, thus locking the bar safely in place. How do I replace it? You'll know it's time to insert a new Dryer Bar when the word "Replace" appears on your old one. Simply pull back the wings on either side of the holder, and the old bar should slide right out. Then simply snap the new one in place. Can I remove the Dryer Bar holder? Generally, you shouldn't need to replace your dryer bar holder to replace your bar. If for some reason you decide to remove the Dryer Bar holder, you can do so in just 3 easy steps: 1.) Turn your empty dryer on the High/Cotton setting for 5 minutes to soften the adhesive. 2.) Wait several minutes for the dryer drum to cool, then use a plastic spatula to gently pry the holder off. Do not use anything metal, as metal can scratch the dryer drum surface. 3.) Use the spatula to rub off any excess residue. You can also use a wet dishtowel with some mild soap like Dawn® Dish Detergent.

This is a TERRIBLE product!
I bought this thinking that I would be able to put it in the dryer and never have to worry if I had enough dryer sheets to do all of my loads of laundry. THIS RUINED MY CLOTHS. I just purchased most of the cloths that I had in that load (I was recently promoted, and I needed to update my wardrobe). There are little white smears of whatever this is made of all over my clothing. It is most notable on the darks and blacks (of which a good deal of my clothing consists of). I lost about $200 on top of the purchase price. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS!

Won't stay attached to my dryer...
I bought this thinking it was a great idea. It's supposed to last 2-4 months but within the first month, it became detached and won't stick back. AND, I can't just leave it in the dryer because it makes WAY too much noise.

BE WARNED - DO NOT BUY!
I did not purchase the Bounce bar from Amazon but felt I had to at least warn others before wasting their money. Just like everyone else here I thought it would be such a time saver and less expensive than throwing dryer sheets every cycle. Well, the first dark load I threw in has white marks all over it and I'm still trying to get them out. It's may be possible to avoid this situation if you don't dry any dark clothing until after a few loads but can't guarantee the marks
won't appear. The second disappointment came less than a week when the bar still looked like new, I was taking a load of clothes from the dryer and they were all full of static. So much for saving money! It made a mess of my clothes the first go round and before a full week was up or approx. 8 loads of clothes later I was back to using dryer sheets to prevent static and to make them smell nice. However, I did not have a problem with it sticking inside the dryer but am wondering how I'm going to get it out. Any ideas? The only reason it has one star is for the concept, unfortunately it has a long way to go before it comes to fruition.
