Power yoga "demands your attention," says instructor Rodney Yee. He leads a challenging, constantly progressing series of poses, one flowing into the next, integrating breath, movement, tension, and relaxation. The poses include Sun Salutation, standing poses, forward bends, back bends, twists, and arm balances. The first poses are fairly easy, and with each repetition of the series, Yee adds on more difficult movements, extending the series without pausing. You're encouraged to do as much of the series that fits your level, up to the entire 65-minute workout if you're an experienced yoga practitioner. Although you can begin at any level, some familiarity with yoga is recommended. The Hawaiian setting is gorgeous and inspiring. This is an excellent yoga workout that you can grow with, adding on more as you get stronger. --Joan Price

Love me some Rodney Yee
No nonsense. Great setting. Flawless cuing. Best for the intermediate to advanced student. Take care of your back and do your yoga!

Power Yoga
I've tried a couple yoga DVD's, and out of all of them, this one is definitely my favorite. I like that Rodney Yee has a great, low-key, personae, as opposed to some of the wishy-washy yoga instructors featured in many videos.
I could have gone for some more poses, as he seems to repeat Warrior one, Warrior two, and some of the basic poses just a bit too much for my liking. But, all in all, it's enjoyable and I definitely feel it without overdoing it. I will say, though, that you may feel it in your back. I know I do, but I've had some problems with lower back pain.
All in all, I feel great after completing the video and it's a good 60 minutes long, so I feel like my yoga practice is complete. It's definitely a great choice if you are like me and aren't one of those people obsessed with yoga--but you enjoy it. It's tame, to the point, and effective. It's great on the intermediate yoga level (or for some beginners with more flexibility, etc)-- there aren't any headstands or anything too terribly difficult.
Power Yoga-Total Body Workout
Great CD. Real body workout. Rodney Yee is inspiring. You might have to start off slow and increase the workout a little each day until you learn the pose sequence and to allow your body to get used to holding the poses.
